  • I went to this concert also. What a great memory. It's nearly 42 years later, and I can remember the thrill. Thanks Jimi

  • THANKS SO MUCH , NOW WE NEED THE FULL CONCERT , LOL , THANKS , AL

  • this version is fucking awesome! he's on fire here.

  • i wish i could travel back in time and give jimi a floyd roses tremolo with locking nut... no one today even deserves to own one

  • Jimi in his last days was depressed over issues with his gear. Especially Fender Stratocaster that we're a nightmare to keep in tune and not to mention sustain of a banjo.

  • @Snotra ...and still is maybe the best guitar ever.

  • I was in the audience that night at Honolulu's HIC. And it was tremendous.

  • lol the beginning, jimi fustrated with the tuning. It is very fustrating though..

  • Woww.. Great Footage

  • If Michael Jeffery were still alive, I would kill him with my bare hands. No question....

  • i would help

  • surely you exaggerate, as you would be jailed for awhile.

    don't drop the soap

  • I've thought the same for about 25 years.

  • Hell Yeah to That my Friend, He;'s the man who had Jimi Killed, no doubt in my mind

  • his body was never found .......????????

  • He found in 1973,

    what comes around goes around.

  • @babyjef He is suffering the wrath of God right now for killing his musical miracle that he had gifted the Earth with, for all of us to enjoy. Michael Jeffry was a sorry sack of shit.

  • @babyjef me, too.

  • Jimi owns. Nuff said. RIP

  • Great Footage for an "Audience"... EH should put out an Accumlative Boxset of Footage like Jimmy Page did with "How the west was won" for Zeppelin.

  • LOVE THIS VID...FANTASTIC! 5 STARS

  • Very cool!

I'd heard for quite some time that there was 5 minutes of silent 16mm film from this show and now I finally got to see it.

    Thanks!!!

I didn't think there was any audio from this show though.

  • Hendrix je bog , gdje su takvi ljudi danas ?!

  • Hehe, tako je... pozdrav iz Novog Sada.

  • I could not believe it when I saw this video. I was at that concert in August of

1970 and have never heard or seen anything from that night until now. No one knew it at the time, but it was in fact his last US concert.

  • No prob man, that's why Youtube exists.

    Greetings from Serbia.

  • Can you share any other memories of the show???

  • Where was this concert in the US?

  • "ufloetz (2 hours ago)

Where was this concert in the US?"

Check out the description box on the right.

  • @ufloetz Hawaii

  • @bwmorrison8

    awesome. :D

what was it like if I may ask?

  • @bwmorrison8

hey man how did jimi do that night !

  • @bwmorrison8

I was at that concert also. We were kinda stoned, but it's a precious memory. Too bad there are no recordings/video of the whole concert. There is some of it on Hendrix' official website, just the audio, and lousy quality.I remember it started with him saying, it's gonna get loud, and it's gonna get louder..lol.. And it did. Jimi played great that night. Not a lot of antics, just pure Blues. One of his best live concerts if not the best.

  • @crowhaven200 Thanks for that cool info.

  • the only thing good from the 60's generation of lazy, commie, faggot shitbags was the sounds..not the words not the ppl not the culture in any way shape or form.

  • words are sounds, duh

  • Don't forget nice car designs :D I love '69 Corvette or Ford GT.

    Btw Ezy Rider woooo! :)

  • That would be Ford GT-40 from the 60s.

Ford GT is from the 2000s

  • jimi hendrix - rest in peace forever. even though, we all know that he's sitting on saturn's rings, rocking the entire galaxy somewhere. i love you, wild blue angel.

wherever the rock legends are - joplin, hendrix, morrison, etc- has to be one groovy place. that's one concert that's literally out of this world.

  • Hey Jimi, guitar God from the Blue Planet,

see you in heaven, in the Rock'n' Roll Galaxy, sometime ...

  • He was a messenger from the planet Zoraz. Too bad he fucked it all up with the hard drugs.

  • I don't believe you. You're a liar.

    Play fuckin' loud Jimi.

  • He was a god from the planet africa

  • he was mostly native american you jew.

  • Watch the 1973 documentary "Electric Ladyland". The coroner reported that Hendrix was not and had never been addicted to heroin or any other narcotic. He died from asphyxiation (choked on his own vomit in his sleep). This was due largely in part because his management ran him into the ground by scheduling him at opposite sides of the country night after night. He came to rely on barbituates to get rest.

  • Well said my friend.Heartless management! And they were also "Stealing" his hard earned money. One good thing from the Showtime movie "Hendrix" shows the reality of his managment (Mike Jeffries).Or however you spell his last name. When Jimi would ever ask him about where's his (Jimi's) money is going,Jimi was met with intimidation and lies.A few years after Jimi passed, ole Mike met his maker. So what goes around comes around. We'll always love you Jimi. Thanks for leaving us your soulful playing.

  • I herd somewhere that his manager had a 2 million doller insurance on Hendrix, so one day after Jimi took 9 sleeping pills, he drowned him by shoving a bottle of red wine down his throat.

  • every dead star has room in the scenario for fish. the world will never know. go to sleep, wake up dead.

  • ooops... accidentaly clicked on "remove" instead of "reply" on Youtube user taildragger51's post; it went like this:

    "JDtheINFINITE:

I think you are 100% right.

A friend of mine use to work with Mike Jeffrey back when he was a postal worker in Peckham, London and even then Jeffrey was capable of murder.

    He was one seedy character."

Hey taildragger51, that's cool to hear. Did he know Del-Boy too?

  • Yep the sleeping pills did nothing to him. His BAL was 0.025 or 20 mg that did not kill him either. His lungs however was were full of wine. Bad things happen to people that say you should Declare war on Washington.

  • No, it was the combination..

  • The most common theory is that he took 9 pills and passed out immidietly and later that night he vomited and chocked. It's possible that Michael Jeffery killed him cuz he was afraid that Jimi would split.

  • that possibility is very hard for the unawakened to comprehend.

  • @ufloetz Exactly, I truly believe he was killed because he did say that the people must rise up and take back the control of the government. He told the black panthers if they want things to change they need to go to Washington and set off a bomb, not to harm anyone but to make them realize the people want change.

  • Jimi did dope "heroin" point blank. what the hell does some doctor know about what he did. I'ts out of anyones system in 4 days so how could anyone say that?

  • Nothing like Garcia, who wouldn't play certain cities because they were notorious for NOT having good heroin connections. At this point, what does it matter? RIP to all.

  • well you know how it is with heroin. it's often all or nothing. if it didn't show up in Jimi's autopsy, you can say a. he didn't do it, or b. he was able to keep from getting addicted.

there was also no heroin found in him the day they found it on him in Toronto, which was probably planted on him by his manager as a warning.

  • you are joking!! in the sixties kids are using drugs for recreational use...heroin,lsd,barbituates,weed etc. Drugs are part of the hippie culture in those days...get your facts straight!!

  • bfish he no one gives a shit its one more jimi video im fine listening and watching

  • "Easy Rider"

Never heard this recording it sounds bootleg.

    Wow.

  • fucking shit why did he had take those fucking pills ARGGGGGG

  • Yeah, you can tell they were kickin some ass that night, too bad it wasn't filmed.

  • Well hell, I was there, I was on the stage next to the BIG speaker, sitting crosslegged. Just to the right of jimi. I snuck on because it was so dark. They saw me but they let me stay cus I just sat really still. green barrels ...I...think...

  • hey, cool! so, did you film this, haha? greetz from Serbia.

  • I Was there too, standing on a chair. ALl I remember was that he played one of the best concerts he ever played, and no one filmed it or recorded it. What a shame. Aloha Brother. I also wetn tothe Crater celebration that summer, and would love to find some footage from that. Stevie Miller, Stone Pony,Big Brother and the Hodling Company, Quicksilver, I can't remember who else. We were selling mesculine and cocanuts.. That was a great summer.

  • thanks for the great anecdote, brother.

  • The electric medicine man heals my ears from all the crap out there today long live JIMI

  • anybody who doesnt realize that this video is a complete dub is a dunce. like, its so obvious. 1:15...the lyrics start and jimis in the middle of some solo.

  • How can you tell its a dub? is it because when he is singing his mouth isn't moving. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I had no idea...

  • Hell everyone...Is it just me or is the video different from the music.

    Looks dubbed, big time.

Sorry, but the Hendrix shots are great and the music okay, but they do not look synched.

    have a nice day.

  • Of course it is dubbed, big time. Same thing for 99 % of the other Hendrix, Led Zepp, Who, etc. audience footage. Have a nice day too.

  • Great to see that footage! Very similar to the performance in Copenhagen 3. sept-70.

  • ezy rider..

  • 2 months ahead

Hare, hare, to a shattered desperate version of Ezy Rider.

Did he feel his fate was to go?

Jimi's last jam songs were dark on last gig in London, september 16 th Ronnie Scott's Club.

  • AWESOME!!! PLEASE POST MORE RARE JIMI THAT IS NOT ON YOUTUBE YET!!!

    Thanx!

  • Too bad... JIMI IS THE BEST :-)

  • The man was the best. But it is hard to realise that he only had one and 1 half month to go. he must not have felt really ok during this period too

  • his best playing and material AND BAND ever!

  • thanks

  • I've never seen this. Man, teasing me by syncing up the first shot. Hey, check out my favorites list for more Hendrix and suggest any additions, Thanx!.

  • I was at this show and actually met him as he got out of his limo to go into HIC. He gave me a Kool cigarette. We then listened to about an hour of the Hare Krishna's chant. Then he came on and blew us all away.

  • Is this his last gig ever or just in the US? He died in London september 18 I think.

  • "Is this his last gig ever or just in the US?"

    - just in the US.

  • Wow! Is this for real? I was at that concert, and I was told by many collectors that theere was no videos of that concert other than one home video clip with no sound. It was a great night, and I will never forget it. I would love to have the whole show to relive it. I guess there is no more? Where did you find this? Thank you!

  • The quality really sucks, but whole song is awesome! *_*

I think the best live version...

  • I know he wore that outfit a lot. I just meant that with the quality as good as it is, it remindes me of the Atlanta film. I have a question. Why the heck are some frames upside down? lol

  • "The quality of the dubbed audience tape sounds pretty bad"

yup, actually the only time it was synched well is his introduction to Ezy Rider.

"but the actual footage is really good! It looks like outtake footage from Atlanta 1970."

it's 1 august 1970. He wore the same clothes quite a few times on his "Cry of Love" tour - Atlanta (4 july), New York Pop Festival (17 july, where he told some hecklers to "fuck off", audience footage available on youtube), Isle of Wight (30 august 1970), etc.

  • The quality of the dubbed audience tape sounds pretty bad, but the actual footage is really good! It looks like outtake footage from Atlanta 1970.

  • Ohhh! My God! Beautiful! Rare Footage! People Need To Appreciate on what they aren't able to see unless we have people like ISB that surfaces videos like these. Goodnes! Good Job I look forward for some more!

  • Well I wrote in the description section that it's the audience footage, innit? Be glad there's even this little document of his last US gig - if you found something better from this gig, lemme know, ok?

    glad you've enjoyed it though.

  • Horibble quality... however great apperiance of J.H. ...
