It's quite amazing to 'discover' an artist years after you knew they existed. I personally listened to Queen's music, but only now have been entirely swamped with awe and respect for Freddie Mercury's energy andd vocal capability. I suppose it was a bit like having a nice snack in the fridge... I still have the Beatle's to 'discover' at nearly 40.
Bono actually created 199 fake accounts. 198 to hate and 1 to love this, because there isn't a human being alive who couldn't admire Freddie Mercury that day.
No in ear headphones, no modern auto tunning.. played on the same stage as countless other bands and they sound absolutley brilliant! There is a lesson in there...
This man is the true definition of the word "legend" and the concept of being a front man. Thank you so much for uploading this. I remember watching it on TV when i was 9 and a half years old ....... so long ago. Love Queen.xx
@Stelios7xXx well, at least you understand what it is all about so you can always find the great music. Maybe something great can still come, listen to Adele AND Alma Cogan. Both great. Of course, Freddie is the greatest ever anyway. I especially love the first Queen album which knocked me out completely when I was about 15. It opened up a whole musical universe. I asked once my bro what made Queen so special. He said without hesitating, "it's the harmonies".He was right for sure.
I want to thank Bob Geldof for making possible this greatest concert and charity event of all time. That in turn made possible this greatest performance ever by Queen. I'll never forget the feeling of that day. So Thank's Bob, for making the world just a little bit brighter that day.
I stood about ten feet away from Freddie when he was on stage here. Its hard to put into words how I feel now about that day never mind then. I wept when he died. I mean really wept. didn't go to work for a couple of days either. I have really been to another gig since there was no real point. But to stand in front of Freddie was one of the best days of my life..I am straight guy but to be honest I think he was more of a man than most guys I know including me.
Nice story nanacindynz ...... hope you have the full DVD now ......... I have :) ..... one of the great occasions of the 1980's ......... still amazing today.
my parents bought a video recorder just so they could record this. it cost $1500 and the tapes were $20 each. Dad taped only parts of it because they couldn't afford more than about 3 videos, but he caught Queen, so I grew up watching this (I was born a couple months before!)
@thatjacobkiddy My mum almost just cried when telling me that she couldn't go to the concert because she was in hospital with a broken foot. Apparently she said she would hop barefoot if required but the doctors wouldn't agree to it lol!
@NickyLess The sad thing I too could cry now having missed out on seeing MJ whom I grew up with - I had every intention of going no matter the cost. The sad reality is when people pass you trully realise how great they were - these guys were slightly beyond my generation but I too could cry about Freddie and the fact I missed out on him too - what a voice what a entertainer great songs - Hopefully will be seing the boss in concert this summer. Next stop Prince and Phil Collins ...Regards

Maybe now you all see the difference, if you have been following Queen Extravaganza final audition videos, you will know by now the power of RAPHAEL DONADIEU'S vocal and the intensity of his performance presence, and how it is far more apt to LIVE PERFORMANCE than Marc MARTEL or Adam LAMBERT or GARY MULLEN
Freddie was the best front man ever. I remember where I was when I heard of his passing. Truly it was a great loss to the music world when he died. Besides Mick Jagger I cannot recall a better performer!
Trying to compare Freddie to anyone is futile. and bieber (I won;t even give him a capital) is a joke. Get real anyone who suggests it. Over 20 years since Freddie died, doubt very much Mr. b will be remembered in 20 months, never mind 20 years.
