  • Olivia Maersk could do with a paint job! They have to use the accomodation ladder as regulations state no pilot is to climb higher than 9m to board a vessel. They can go 9m and then continue boarding via the accomodation ladder. If it is a Suez Pilot...haha, you lower the accomodation ladder right down to the water then heave him up! He was a BIG man.

  • Ha ha .tis one is easy.i work as an engineer and during bunkering we go al the way up and down using that ladder only and no gangways like tis guy is using.its pretty scary tho initially.later on i get the hang of it.a harness should be used but these pilots dont use it coz they only climb downd the ladder for the last few steps

  • looks kinda dangerous to climb like that .. what if he falls and break something

must be a fun job though

  • my husband is in that boat right now... =)

  • That guy got guts!

  • I rode a pilot boat one night and saw this many times. It is the most awesome thing I have done.

  • wow, i'm a marine officer, but never be a pilot, guess i need to follow a pilotage movement soon ;-)
