Loved Cecile...Although I wasn't watching AW until later, I recall watching after the new opening premiered, with its silvery letters and mauvy background...Great show...too bad it's no more....
LOL!!! Was paying attention to the timeless/sublime/just-excellent theme and also the credits, and didn't see right away that KBAY-TV is using a *2-door* car for a news vehicle!! :D Too funny....
1981 was probably the single worst year of writing and acting on AW in it's entire 35 year run. To think that the show was ranked #1 in the summer of 1978 and then almost cancelled in 1981!

Ed O'Neill and Ray Liotta (in the screen shot wearing a green polo + name in the credits)!

I thought that was Al Bundy! Ed O'Neill played on Another World. Oh, well, it was still a classy show.

So sad to listen to if you've just lost someone. Still beautiful though.

At least the show was still recognizable in 1981. Less than two years later, everyone was gone and it was the Loves/McKinnons/Mac & Rachel show.

I'm sure 1981 writing might be the worst in AW's entire run. But I bet that year would beat any soap that is on TODAY!
