I saw this voice acting on foxtel once and he had the mustache i thought what happened to his face and voice. Then I thought that the normal voice actor might of been sick or sumthin lol
Um, did you even read my video description? ;) It says that the entire "Winter Olympics" pilot with Gary Owens can be found on Magna Pacific's Australian DVD edition "Inspector Gadget - The Original Series: Box Set 1". The reason I'm not posting the full episode is that I want to support the DVD sales of Inspector Gadget. It can easily be bought online... if you need a tip, I got my copy fairly cheaply from the Australian DVD store 'Family Box Office' (fbo.com.au).
I don't see why it's so hard to get, but everyone ouside the land of OZ (or Australia, if you will) can buy a copy. You can find it at any online Australian DVD store, and I've already described what I think is the best alternative: Go into the web site fbo.com.au and search for 'Inspector Gadget'. You'll find box set 1 in no time and get info on how to buy it/register as a customer. (Just note that it's region 4, so you must either own a region-free DVD player or just watch it on your PC.)
First of all because, during production of IG, MGM sent DiC a filed letter complaing that Gadget looked way too much like Peter Sellers' Inspector Clouseau. I kinda agree, and I guess that's where the creators lifted the design from in the first place. But I personally think the shaving was a lucky incident... Gadget looks bumbling in a more charming, innocent way without his moustache. It sorta changed the whole character:)
My pleasure:) Yeah, Gary is pretty entertaining, though ultimately Don Adams is the best Gadget in my eyes (or ears). But it's interesting to think about how different the character would have felt if this voice had been used throughout the series. The link to Get Smart would certainly not have been so strong. And Gadget does seem a bit smarter and more resorceful in this initial episode, so maybe they decided to make him more bumbling and clumsy (like Maxwell Smart) once Don Adams got the part.
Wen I was a kid I loved this show and Today I still do.
I wish they would bring this show back. Along with all the other classic Cartoons.

You can. Read my various comments on this site about where to buy it. (It should also be available on ebay from time to time.)

Don Adams of "Get smart" did a better job of voicing gadget.

I wonder if a full copy of the "Winter Olympics" pilot with Gary Owens exists anywhere in the world.

Why'd they get rid of the mustache? It fills the huge gap between his nose and mouth.
