Are you talking flight simulator or real life? For the flight simulator the weather is really not such a big deal, I just set it up to what I feel like it, and add turbulence if I feel like it.
In real life, I always do a complete weather briefing before every flight, even for he short ones around the area, this is something that may take up from 5-10 minutes but it is an essential part of flying. You should always know what you are flying into.
Thanks for the comment. The altitude call-out has to do with the plane, any payware airliner comes with it automatically, I don’t think the default planes have it, you just have to get a plane that has it.
As far as turning, you turn the plane as son as the ATC tells you (you have to be under an IFR flight plan), as far as the turn on final, you’re supposed to start the turn as soon as the localizer needle is live (starts moving towards the center)
I know, I need to have one of you guys get into my computer using teamviewer and set it up, because I'm as dumb as they come when it comes to setting up my computer with this kind of stuff.
I would really like to get more unconventional instructions than what the MSFS ATC is giving me. I wouldn't mind serving as an ATC either on Vatsim, once I get a hang of it.
The flare was OK, I was a little high on the short final. I lost sight of the glideslope when switching from instrument to visual. It only took 2 seconds in a plane like 747. Any over-control would have put the plane in a weird situation, and a very bad flare. It was either land a little long, or do a missed approach at that point. I chose to land a little long in MSFS. In real life, at KLGB, with a 747, I would have probably done a missed approach.
hahah. I thought I would just let you know, they're developing an ultra realistic CRJ-200, 737-300, 737 NG series, and 757, and an MD-80 for X-plane. Doesn't it feel good to fly with real dynamics. aahhh... ;)
Just thought I would make you a bit more jealous, that's all.
I've read up on comparisons between FSX and X-Plane.
Granted X-Plane models the dynamics on airflow etc and FSX uses a lookup system - when it comes to the feel ad behaviour they both behave in the same manner.
I thin it may be the M$ label that gives flightsim a bad name.
I realise I am probably the 1 millionth person to ask - what do you use to record your flights - I use Fraps and it does not record the sound.
Not if the airliner is too close. The Cessna needs to maintain at least around a 5 mile gap.
I've had the ATC tell me to either stay in a hold for an extra turn to let a 747 land, make a 180 degree turn to ive an airliner some time, or I've had them vector me around for a while.
They haven't tried to stick me in front of an airliner yet.
Thanks. It took me a few full flights to get the complete hang of the 747. I can pretty much do the whole flight manually, including specific climbs and descents, prior and after 10,000 feet, to within +/-200 fpm (desired) on the VSI. Few more flights I should have it down cold.
I'm pretty rusty when it comes to the heavies. Seems to me you pretty much have it down. Maybe you can grade me on my 182 ils approach? I'd appreciate some pointers being that you are an actual pilot.
Sure just post it, I'll take a look at it, just make sure you write down exactly which approach you're doing and where, I would hate to go fishing for a approach plate, LOL
wow 20-30 more ft and u wud be off the runway lol nice approach tho

For the truly great 747 experience get the PMDG 747 for FS9 and download 9 Dragons Kai Tak for free.
It's actually not that hard to land at Kai Tak once you know the procedures and it is fun too...
jagara1 2 years ago
Kai Tak is nice and it's not real hard to land in MSFS, but in real life when you get those crosswinds going, it can get a little scary.
I'm not sure if the Kai Tak approach is loaded up in the PMDG 747.

@FSX404 you can find a SIDSTAR file at navdata(dot)at or planepath(dot)com

Dude. How do we come to know when to take turns in a visual approach speacially during an approach?

btw, I just found and got a very very nice Cessna 172Sp G1000 equipped for X-plane :))

You're going to make me buy X-Plane and learn it, and I have no intention of doing that right now, LOL

LOL scenery simmers hahaha. It's true though! Many people rate depending on what scenery use instead of valuing what the video is truly about.
Great job G.

Thanks, I know, but to each his own, its a good thing too, otherwise we'd all see long boring videos like this one all the time, LOL

Beautyful flying and landing! But does ATC happen to clear to land a cessna in front of a 747, in real life as well?
Have you tried Ready for Pushback 747-200?
