If you look at the symbol below the sword and in other places in the room, you'll see that they're repeated in goron mines. It's the biggoron sword alright.

It didn't take THAT long to figure out the order of the lanterns without the picture. I never found the picture, and it was pretty obvious to me what I had to do after I lit the lanterns the first time. In fact, looking at the portrait seems kinda like cheating compared to how Zelda puzzles used to work....

I solved the lantern puzzle b4 I saw this. I keep running around lighting every torch. But the thing is I beat the puzzle, THEN I found out how to solve it. By hitting the rope tied 2 the paintings or whatever they are. I felt so stupid. I actually ran out of oil as soon as I solved it.
