New Orleans was also a terrible disaster and the USA was taken by surprise at that disaster and they are the richest counrty in the world.

What gets me is that Haiti is only 200 miles of the USA coast yet the aid getting to the people is little more than a dripping tap. The USA (Rightly so) has taken control over air space and the air strip but on the ground I don't think the word urgency is in their vocabulary. You would had thought one of the poorest nations just of the coast of the worlds richest would have had a better response than what we are seeing now. Real shame and its not through lack of funds, just bad organisation

I hate winter but I'm sure glad I'm Canadian. I'm afraid their troubles will get worse there. Disease of epidemic proportion could easily follow. The rest of the world will have to rebuild this country, so I believe a stable foreign should take complete control, maybe France will take it back.
