However, this one unique trait that the author gave her own set of vampire characters became over commericalized and is conflicting with the standard stereotypical vampire image.

Im in the middle of the book right now, and you are right, I most of the film was made up, but to tell you the truth, the vampire lestat was a very long read as is the queen of the damned, to do a movie based on either one it would be best left as miniserries for HBO to fully get the story, also interview was had some inacuracies as well, for example Armand was supposed to be a boy of 17, but antonio banderas was good, as was tom cruize as lestat,

Idiotproof this: vampires are real. they are just not as glamorous as the media makes them out to be. They closely resemble more like the characters in the move "Ravenous" view and you will see what i mean.

Its a Paradox my dear Nosterftu and others suffer from sunlight afflictions. Others do not! There was nothing inaccurate about it for instance did you see Dracula turn to midst in Buffy 5:1? Some Vampires have souls, a soul moving outside a body is quite similar. Sometimes referred to as a Spirit Walker by the Native American Indians I believe.
I just think it is very sad that Aaliyah had died just months before this movie came out. She did such an amazing job. It was perfection!!! Too bad she never lived long enough to see it. She would of been so excited and proud to see herself play a sexy, dark, and evil vampire which i think is a fun role to play. She was such a great actress.

Actually there is something very wrong with what she did to vampires because the fact that they are repulsed by sunlight is a huge analogy to the fact that they are inhuman and outsiders who can't return to humanity. And making a book simply to her liking isn't so much as creative as well as it is self-indulgent. To write and publish a novel, you're supposed to pass on knowledge, not to indulge in some fantasy.

I love that song, but to tell the truth, I really hate that movie! As a movie is really cool, but as a book adaptation sucks!!! I really hope not to ofend anyone but if you had read the books you know what I mean.

Im in the middle of the book right now, and you are right, I most of the film was made up, but to tell you the truth, the vampire lestat was a very long read as is the queen of the damned, to do a movie based on either one it would be best left as miniserries for HBO to fully get the story, also interview was had some inacuracies as well, for example Armand was supposed to be a boy of 17, but antonio banderas was good, as was tom cruize as lestat,

Todo me parecio desastrozo, desde la eleccion del actor que reencarna a Lestat hasta los efectos del fuego en esta escena xD ! lo mejor es el libro, y esta pelicula no le hace justicia. Yo estoy leyendo la reina de los condenados y estoy dispuesta a leerme toda la saga entera :).

@kytpuma en orden son: entrevista con el vampiro, Lestat el vampiro, la reina de los condenados,el ladron de cuerpos,memnoch el diablo, Armand el vampiro,merrick,sangre y oro, el santuario y cántico de sangre. Además hay otros dos libros que no entran dentro de las crónicas de vampiros que se llaman "nuevas historias de vampiros ", y son: Pandora , Vittorio el vampiro :)

Idiotproof this: vampires are real. they are just not as glamorous as the media makes them out to be. They closely resemble more like the characters in the move "Ravenous" view and you will see what i mean.

I just think it is very sad that Aaliyah had died just months before this movie came out. She did such an amazing job. It was perfection!!! Too bad she never lived long enough to see it. She would of been so excited and proud to see herself play a sexy, dark, and evil vampire which i think is a fun role to play. She was such a great actress.

Actually there is something very wrong with what she did to vampires because the fact that they are repulsed by sunlight is a huge analogy to the fact that they are inhuman and outsiders who can't return to humanity. And making a book simply to her liking isn't so much as creative as well as it is self-indulgent. To write and publish a novel, you're supposed to pass on knowledge, not to indulge in some fantasy.
