our planet is too Amazing and Beautiful to Believe that is product of a explotion as Science admit , All things around this world moves in complete Armony , for sure has to exist a GOD that create the universe and this wonderful Planet , thats why " in the begining God create the Sky and the land " , Genesis 1:1
@iilove1023 Playing pool @ nite, out the window we saw a hunting pack of 6 hungry wolves trek thru the 15' empty gap between barracks stairs. A fellow yanked the outside brass pull on the steel door with his bare hand & got thrown over the railing when his skin froze to it. Two guys got lost on-site in a white-out blizzard and were found frozen days later. Being outdoors was a courts martial offense when AFRN's AMN Stowe announdced it. But AFCS guys, me. were essential & must always go out. FUN!
@Raoul3657 I arrived on station in mid-December 83 after processing-in at Elmendorf. The temps stayed pretty consistent in the mid-twenties below, but the wind chill would sometimes hit 40-50 below. The gear they gave us was pretty good, I only really felt the cold wind on the area below my parka and above my mukluks, almost felt like I was getting a sunburn. I'd brought along a .357 magnum and put together a .50 Hawken kit, I'd take them out to the shooting range whenever I could.
@Raoul3657 Anything to shake off the cabin fever. There was a 2-lane bowling alley stuck on the end of the gym, SSgt Gillespie and I would go there regularly, got my game up over 200. It was a lucky year for the firedogs, we didn't have a single IFE or structure fire while I was there. Apart from 1 snowmobile accident the P-4s stayed put in the truck bay the whole time. Now sometimes we'd have to go out if the runway was icy and the F-15 jocks wanted to practice catching the barriers
make sure you feed those dogs fancy food when you get back cuz i'm not a fan of iditarod or those sledding dogs but i sure did enjoy those great video from you..thanks Chris and the dogs
@jkljkl218 dont worry, as long as you are a Christian and have accepted God into your heart, you will get to see this, and MANY more BEAUTIFUL things when you die! :) But if you aren't a believer :( all you will see is fire and demons D:
Great video, thanks for sharing. For those of us living south of the 40th parallel this is probably the closest we will ever come to seeing the Aurora Bore3alis, thank you.
Outstanding clip, I was in Galena in 1983-84 when the 5072nd ABS was still up and running. We were the closest fighter/interceptor base to the former USSR, it was our job to chase the Bears out of the woods. Alaska is truly an awesome place, I hope to return someday. (But maybe not this winter, this Arkansas hillbilly got all that 40 below stuff he wanted 30 years ago!)
@usafvet100 Spent '71-'72 at Galena APP (Air Plane Patch) when it was one of four paved runways in Alaska. [F-4's & Bears] Went South of the dike & saw a most INTENSE w/red Aurora that I had to applaud in appreciation. A Pink Floyd show {'87 the foggy mist} was second best. Minus 56 degrees was my experience of cold there,, but they've been below that already this year several times. Went North & walked across the mile-wide Yukon River on the snow crust without snowshoes. NOT smart move! More...
@Raoul3657 OOPS! Got my North & South screwed around. Had to remember that "Hi-Noon" was ½" above the mountains in the SOUTH. Even tho outfielders couldn't see the batter for the voracious mosquito swarms, the thought of finishing the baseball game @ midnight on th 5th of July was a great concept. Made many visits to off-limits (no running water there) Yukon Inn to admire the beautiful wall murals. Film wasn't fast enough to capture images in the minimal lighting. International Traveall Limosine
@tylerbehel13a This is a lovely vid, I was stationed at Galena in 1983-84 when the 5072nd ABS was still up and running in the bad old Cold War days. We were the closest fighter/interceptor base to the former USSR, we had two F-15s to chase the Bears out of the woods. Alaska is one of the most beautiful and adventurous places I've ever been, I'd love to visit it again someday.
@usafvet100 Galena, built in WWII by the Russians who have NEVER been our "friends". They put it in the spring flood plain on the isolated North bank. I was in "temporary" Russian built barracks that had been flooded up to the roof (by evidence of the pix on the chow hall line wall.with the paddle wheeler inside the dike).Birchwood Hangar's doors are on narrow gauge Russian railroad wheels & trax. The electric generator 11" pistoned engine was a Russian.locomotive diesel that I knocked off line.
Great video to share - ty. I tried to video an Aurora event here in Vermont several years ago. My camera didn't pick up any of the light...is there a special lens required?
Nice clip. Do you remember what your time between shots was - maybe 15 seconds I'm guessing? What was your iso setting? Thanks for sharing. LarsAlaska

Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfuly framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
