I love how many people are sitting here complaining about how the movie was written, or how the actors performed. Seriously, stfu. Most likely NONE of you could write a better movie or give a better performance than the people who did this movie. All of the original cast, and Roddenberry's wife & Son, all approved of the 2009 film and said it was something that Roddenberry would have loved! So shut your mouths already. If you didn't like it, don't watch the sequel. This movie is why I saw TOS.

In case you didn't know, they have a movie coming out next year called Paul, and another the year after called The World's End, which is the third in the 'Trilogy' along with Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the dead.

He was GOD DAMN AWFUL in Star Trek. I bet you hadn't seen Star Trek before, but Monthomery Scott is NOTHING like that. The accent's wrong, the personality is wrong, he look wrong. They wanted to make him the "comic relief" for the film and tried to make him a mad scientist, which he was not. He was a hard working, "miracle worker" chief engineer, who loves his ship. 0/10 acting.

I agree. Pegg's presence during that scene with the older Spock added levity to what I considered a slightly awkward performance by Nimoy. I think most serious Star Trek fans can write a better film than the typical Hollywood schmuck. Abrams made a valiant effort, but there was a finesse that was lost.
