A frozen layer will not be visible, but will its entities will be refreshed when you use a REGEN command to redraw the screen. If you turn a layer off, all its entities will will not be refreshed. Turning layers that you don't need off, in a large drawing with many layers, can improve computer performance when zooming or refreshing.
