I think that this is sad. If you are sick of your spouse and want someone else, leave them. If you want to have multiple partners whether for love or just sex, identify as polygamous or poly-amorous.

I have a couple friends who are in poly-relationships, and very happy. All of their partners know what's going on and trust them. There is none of this "discreet, private, affair, cheating" stuff. It only applies to when you don't want your lover/s to know, and that's a betrayal of trust.

The thing that is really fucked up about cheating is the un-repairable pain that it causes. When someone cheats it can't be undone, and no punishment can heal the wound that it creates. Also they have tons of gambling shows for poker and other card games, and for fantasy baseball, football, etc. encouraging people to bet their money on sports...
