JUST MISSED!!! "Mother Popcorn" just missed making the Billboard's Hot Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 12 weeks in the Hot Top 100 in 1969!!!
Prince added part of the lyrics in his song "Gett Off". His rendition is:
"I like 'em fat...I like 'em proud...you gotta have a mutha for me now move yo' big ass round this way so I can work on dat zippa baby...tonight your the star and I'm the big dipper..."
@sargea1 What about you are asking?About italian mafiozo Godfather??Those wars for human rights, civil rights, nigros rights,lesbo-pedorast rights are come from jews and hell`s hole.I like music and all kind of rights is big f... When you have everything all right with God , then you don`t need shout about rights. In my coutry russians are like nigros and they are screaming about russian rights.
@tetris136 - nope, James Brown was known as the Godfather Of Soul. Nothing to do with Mario Puzo's book. Presumably Martin Luther King was not "all right with God".
@nesnejls SERIOUSLY tight! James always employed the best players, if you could not keep up or missed a que then you were out. This performance sounds just like the studio version, they even wove in "Open up the door" flawlessly! Where can you find players like this now?
It seems like times are getting better, and they are. But then you hear chumps comparing Obama to a communist or a terrorist like Hoover used to say about Martin Luther King. Some very rich, powerful people in corporations and the govt are still dedicated to stopping equality in this nation and will commit a sort of character assassination to make it happen. Pray for our good leaders to stay alive and in office, cos God knows we need good people of all races in power in the USA these days too.
I was lucky enough to see James Brown live when this was a hit. I knew then and I still know when he was in his prime he was unbeliveable. He didn't need 30 or 40 dancers behind him just that tight ass band. I'm sorry for anyone that didn't get the chance to see him live back then. When he finished his show the audience didn't scream for an encore cause he wore your ass out!! It was something.
@jmcdade2000 I was blessed as well to see JB in the 70's at the Apollo Theater so many times in NYC! This was the originator, The Godfather of Soul Soul Brother #1 and every title you could bestow upon this man. He was just awesome, superbad and could dance his ass off! I hanve never seen anyone like him in my life but Michael Jackson and Michael emulated JB! He watched him and took his moves and did them in his own way. I miss this man so much! He was just amazing!
Stupid, you can only choose "nice" (or "leuk" in Dutch), to acknowledge such an intense experience like this. Just "nice" doesn't bring forward music and a performance like this. But I guess that's the time we live in.
i just watched the MOFUNK1 version of this clip & I was really happy to be able to see it , w/ all of James's dancing intact.BUT now I am REALLY appreciating this small film.Really WELL DONE !
This is the first time that I like what some one did when they tried to make a video.
This is REALLY well done .I am grateful for the talent & awareness & time you put into this.

Why did you edit the video by including these clips? You are trying to change the meaning and mood of the song.
