Pienso q si de todas formas se iba a dar un cambio n la música, era bueno tb cambiar la voz y no seguir n lo mismo. Poner una mezzo o soprano q haga lyrico, por muy buena q sea nunca iba a llenar la espectativa de los fans de ambas bandas. MAryangela a mejorado muchisimo desde su integracion a la banda, hasta esta interpretacion, al parecer ella entrenó su voz durante todo ese lapso de tiempo. Pero deberia animarse a cantar la cancion completa y no solamente la introduccion.

La voz de Mary, es muy potente, puede llegar a notas agudas, pero obviamente no se maneja bien en ellas, por el mismo hecho de ser contralto. I know Mary doesn't suit the old Tristania and Annette doesn't suit the old Nightwish which is a shame, but we all know that Mary can't sing doesn't matter what style she is singing(she's not doing the whole singing thing correctly). But Annette, I think she is really good at singing, just not opera like Tarja. And I think NW's new ablum with Annette is a very good metal ablum, just not what the old NW would do, but that doesn't mean Annette can't sings or she's pop.

They can't even play this song right and had to modify it because the female singer fucking sucks and the band sucks too. The only cool thing is the guy with the screaming vocals. He is he only one who seems to know what he is doing. There is no soul to this. Then they bring out the fat guy to sing a few words. It's like they are riding on the original Tristania's glory and trying to get the audience to "buy it".

Obviously the band isnt the same. It's not only for Mary but for almost every single member of the band. There have been so many changes.. They play well some songs but other they dont. Here I miss a lot of back sounds. But they've been trying to do their best so far. Now I think they have a complete lin-up so we should wait to listen their new material first, since they've been playing only songs from the old era. Hope with their new songs they can do it as well as old Tristania ;)

I really enjoyed most of this song...and by most I mean everything except Demurtas. I love live performances but most of them unfortunately don't sound as good as the studio version. Take Agalloch for example...it would be bad-ass to see them live but at the same time if you look up their live performances on here it sounds like there are several guitars missing. It's best to just enjoy the show and the improvisation that comes with it. =)

I am a musitian myself,and I know that bands must move on and make new and different materials,but I think that they should have moved on in another direction.
Don't get me wrong,this sounds ok,but it has lost that which was 'Tristania' in this song.
Somehow i feel that this band became some pale semimainstream band, and before it was grand band that actually kept that specific genre alive. Tristania was always one of my favs,but somehow it is not the same band anymore.
Just listen to the old version of this song and compare it with this one.This one hasn't got that specific impact.
oh yes; they used mixing recordings, you can actually listen Vibeke's, another Mary's and Mary live (In Kyiv's show you will be able to listen better if you want to ^^
older videos I see of Tristania look AMAZING and TRUE. Even the clothes they wear in the earlier days, how they act, the album covers, and their sound is MUCH more metal and atmospheric. It gives you an eerie goosebump feeling when you those videos.
Did anyone else notice that in these videos Mary is singing behind another computerized voice of Vebekes? Listen to the intro, the dominant voice you hear is Vibeke being played on the PA with Mary singing in the dimmer background voice....

Una de las mejores canciones de tristania junto con el album, pero el tristania actual es un verdadero desastre, no hay fuerza ni compromiso en ninguno de los integrantes. Si no fuera por Mariangela tristania seria un circo, obio nunca podra suplir a vibeke, ella es inremplazable.

Cuando existe un buen sinergismo entre los integrantes de una banda, no cambian los musicos ni los vocalistas, sino q va evolucionando la música. D lo contrario cada kien va siguiendo el camino q mejor le parece. Q t digo d la banda? casi solo qda el nombre d ella. Su música es muy diferente d la old tristania, no x eso deja d ser buena. "year of the rat" s genial. La musica s d ellos... para compartirla.

En serio, yo traté de verle el lado bueno, y la verdad que encontré que el tipo gordo es un buen cantante, no esta mal, no es Osten, pero no por eso es malo. @VampirezaEmoxa Aunq la situacion d Tristania se dió d forma totalment diferent a la d Nightwish. Pienso q si de todas formas se iba a dar un cambio n la música, era bueno tb cambiar la voz y no seguir n lo mismo. Poner una mezzo o soprano q haga lyrico, por muy buena q sea nunca iba a llenar la espectativa de los fans de ambas bandas. Pues está más q claro, q el recuerdo de las antiguas vocalistas pesa bastante. Tanto Mary como Anette son geniales, contralto y soprano ligera respectivamente.

@mywinterstorm07 Son nuevos cortes. No se puede pedir q una contralto haga el trabajo o se maneje en el rango de una mezzo o una soprano. La voz de Mary, es muy potente, puede llegar a notas agudas, pero obviamente no se maneja bien en ellas, por el mismo hecho de ser contralto. No creo para nada que la banda este echada a perder, sino escucha " Year of the rat", solo te la sugiero. Tu opinion se respeta, pero claro q no la comparto.

@Amaranth2020 Hace mucho que escuché Rubicon y por supuesto Year Of The Rat y la verdad ninguna me gusta. Lo que hacía único a Tristania, era su estilo y eso se murió hace mucho. La gente dice que desde que se fue Morten, pero yo digo que hasta World Of Glass. Sus 3 primeros discos son joyas, los demás sobran. No digo que sean malos (Rubicon si), pero eso no es Tristania. Y no me gusta comparar voces, pero Vibeke era la que encajaba en esta banda.

Tampoco podría decir q los albumes despues d "World of glass" sean malos (Incluyendo Rubicon a pesar de ser más comercial". De hecho ningun album de la banda me gusta por completo, pero eso no quiere decir q no aprecie a tristania por lo q si me gusta de ellos, trato de ver lo bueno. Pero es logico q no todos pensemos =

I know Mary doesn't suit the old Tristania and Annette doesn't suit the old Nightwish which is a shame, but we all know that Mary can't sing doesn't matter what style she is singing(she's not doing the whole singing thing correctly). But Annette, I think she is really good at singing, just not opera like Tarja. And I think NW's new ablum with Annette is a very good metal ablum, just not what the old NW would do, but that doesn't mean Annette can't sings or she's pop.

They can't even play this song right and had to modify it because the female singer fucking sucks and the band sucks too. The only cool thing is the guy with the screaming vocals. He is he only one who seems to know what he is doing. There is no soul to this. Then they bring out the fat guy to sing a few words. It's like they are riding on the original Tristania's glory and trying to get the audience to "buy it".

Obviously the band isnt the same. It's not only for Mary but for almost every single member of the band. There have been so many changes.. They play well some songs but other they dont. Here I miss a lot of back sounds. But they've been trying to do their best so far. Now I think they have a complete lin-up so we should wait to listen their new material first, since they've been playing only songs from the old era. Hope with their new songs they can do it as well as old Tristania ;)

I really enjoyed most of this song...and by most I mean everything except Demurtas. I love live performances but most of them unfortunately don't sound as good as the studio version. Take Agalloch for example...it would be bad-ass to see them live but at the same time if you look up their live performances on here it sounds like there are several guitars missing. It's best to just enjoy the show and the improvisation that comes with it. =)

Somehow i feel that this band became some pale semimainstream band, and before it was grand band that actually kept that specific genre alive. Tristania was always one of my favs,but somehow it is not the same band anymore.
Just listen to the old version of this song and compare it with this one.This one hasn't got that specific impact.

older videos I see of Tristania look AMAZING and TRUE. Even the clothes they wear in the earlier days, how they act, the album covers, and their sound is MUCH more metal and atmospheric. It gives you an eerie goosebump feeling when you those videos.

Mary não canta o refrão desde muito tempo, a música foi mudada. e isso NÃO significa que ela não saiba cantar. Quem pesquisa o mínimo sobre a carreira dela pode afirmar que ela chuta bundas de muitas gothic-ladies por aí.
