  • sounds really good man..love that strat tone

  • Could someone give me the tabs from the lick @ 0:12

  • what scales do you recommend learning first? thanks

  • I'd also like to reinforce how great your tone is, if I may. Also, I like that your solo isn't too obvious. 5 stars

  • Hows that Digitech loop pedal work for you? I am looking to buy one soon and I'm trying to get a good perspective on the top brands.

  • smooth playin yo...

  • awesome tone.

  • you know, you say there's some empty space at the end where you could've slipped in a few more riffs....but to be honest, in my opinion, i think you utilized it very well. space is like the most underrated thing when it comes to soloing these days. most of the solos i hear people play, it's very technically impressive, but they ain't sayin nothin musically. this is now one of my favorite videos on youtube, so thank you very much for uploading. keep up the good work!

  • Your tone's really nice.

  • how did you learn to play like that? I really want to be able to play liek that but I don't know how to play that quick.

  • @letshakehands quick??? LLS. I guess so. Just keep at it and it'll coming. Work on picking techniques.. thatll help.

  • how did you learn to play like that? I really want to be able to play liek that but I don't know how to play that quick.

  • What are your deville amp settings?

  • what pedals do you use (if so)? :) . Cheers!

  • nice fuckin strat. whatever you do never get rid of that thing

  • Cool, can you tell me what strat that is you're playing?

  • great sound man! awesome!

  • damn!!! how old are you? you sound great

  • hey bro what kinda pickups and strat is that... amp?

  • What kinda pickups do you use? I love the soft sound.

  • You have a great style man, now branch out from the JM stuff and find your sound! JM is the modern gateway to greatness, just like Clapton was to him.

  • @abratskeller JM followed the tone of SRV

  • @jacoboy123 and EC, and Buddy Guy, and BB King . . . I'd say his sound is more like those three than SRV, but his sound is unique from all of them, which is what makes him good. People can imitate people all day, but its when they find their own personal sound that greatness happens.

  • @abratskeller But if you heard Mercy from the 2008 tour, in fact any solo from JM, you can clearly hear riffs from SRV, but then again, SRV was also influenced by BB and Clapton. I think we can just trace everything back to Robert Johnson!

  • John mayer followed stevie ray vaughn....

  • great tone!!

  • wow, awesome talent man

  • good stuff! what scale are you playing on?

  • Its D major

  • @attu89 same as playing in Bb minor pentatonic gives you D major

  • Wow, this is amazing... I wish I could play like that.

  • Dude, your kindof incredible

How long have u been playing? cuz u look young

  • Thanks for the tip. Will get one real soon. :)

Say, how did you learn to play like that? Any websites you recommend for study? What scales should I study?

  • Well, I played violin for eight years before guitar. I guess just listen a lot and practice a lot. The penatonic scale is a pretty universal blues scale...learn that. As for websites...YouTube is a great place to learn! Thanks a lot!

  • dude! me too! hahah. i played violin for 9 and a half years. and it got to the point, i was like, man screw this, and picked up a guitar.

  • shit same here! Played violin for 4 years before picked up guitar! Looks liek the way to become a great guitarist ;) aha

  • @vaughan0827 learn as many jm and SRV songs as you can, look up pentatonic scale boxes. learn a bit of jazz, a bit of funk, and maybe you will be almost as good as this guy because he truly is a genius.

  • Great playing man. How did you get the backing track? Did you record that yourself? How? What did you use?

  • Hey thanks! I used my Digitech Jamman for the backing track...just recorded a couple parts and played over it.

  • sweet!!!

  • AMAZING!!!!!! I am you big fan bro!!!!! i have a question,, How much time do you practice at day? ,,,,, Your sound is great, God Bless your talent.

  • @jazznowsee is it the reissue model?

  • Incredible tone my friend.

From one JM fan to another... :)

I've got a Hot Rod Deluxe, and although the EQ won't work out quite the same...I was just wondering what the settings on your amp were for this?

  • Thanks a lot! The treble is set at 10, the bass at 6, and the mid at 7. Hope this helps!

  • Beautiful playing, but what really stands out is the tone. What amp are you using, and what mic?

  • Thank you! I am using a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 miced by a Shure Beta 58A mic. Thanks.

  • nice playin, nice strat too. i am considering the hot rod 62, and the 62 reissue. how do you find the 9.5 neck to play? is that a chunky neck? the 62 reissue is 7.25 wondering what your thoughts are....do you get any hum from the pickups? sounds great!

  • I really love the thick, chunky neck. It feels great. Yes the pickups hum a little, but nothing to major. Thank you!
