I heard that as of 11-5-09 patch Shaiya no longer uses GameGuard. Is this true? Maybe my rantings have had an effect.

i can get to the loading screen, but after that it crashes.

I am using wine and i don't know what the problem is.

Probably graphics related, as in try windowed mode. The game won't run full-screen unless you have the appropriate mode listed in xorg.conf, which nobody ever does anymore.

and of course you have to disable gameguard first, unless it works with the new wine. haven't messed with it lately, so maybe they fixed it :P

This bypass looks cool however I have a worse problem as the moment. Just installed Win 7 and Shaiya crashes while Gameguard starts loading!! :-(( Still looking for a solution as the moment.

Well I had it all explained but they went and removed it for me and they're removing other comments too I see. Or I'm paranoid and there is some kind of database glitch...

OK maybe this post won't get deleted.. A typical hack is only 4-8 bytes different from the original exe as seen with byte compare. Be advised that practically anyone can code a reasonably good virus downloader in under 100 bytes, however. Thus, I can't recommend any particular link. Contents may change. A firewall won't protect you from bad stuff once it's been downloaded. Enjoy your games and/or have fun learning!

If the client does not check that gameguard is running. Use OllyDbg, open the exe, break on CreateProcess trace it to where it calls it on GameGuard.des and change the InheritHandles parameter to 0. GameGaurd will load and then close.

had 2 find it the new gameguard gives me a win32k.sys blue screen of death

Does this also work with Project Torque? Because this game has also the GameGuard crap build-in.

Project Torque is another game from Aeriagames (creator of shaiya)
