  • and worst...airlines in america are not recruiting new ones...

so they are just making the pilots more fatigue...

  • Crew members are not "supposed" to sleep in the crew lounge, but...if your flight got in at 11:30 pm and you had to be at work at 5:00am the next morning, would you walk through the airport, get on a bus/taxi, walk to your crash pad to be kept awake by a snorer, then wake up in the morning, go through security, etc. etc.? They sleep in the crew rooms because they get more sleep that way. Also, crew members are sometimes scheduled for 4-5 hour "sits" in the middle of their day...why not nap?

  • Anchor man is a fuckin idiot

  • haha! I know that guy!

  • 1:35 it was not a regional jet!!! It was a turbo-prop

  • Sully is 100% right on the money......... Well said for sure!!!!!

  • So now, we sleep in cars. Worse........

  • Another HOMO that can't fly for a fiddler's fuck.

  • You pussies crying for more BIG GOVERNMENT REGULATION. Listen to Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Santorum - they tell the truth, regulations are killing jobs. Let the free market determine what airlines are successful - if your mom dies on an airline flight, well, don't give that airline your business anymore, simple.

    Keep voting REPUBLICAN AMERICA!!

  • @ecktoeman Right... Pick another super rich republican, you will be competing for jobs with slave labour, you tax money will be financing oversees wars, your health care cost will triple in just a year (Yes Bush family is BIIIG into Pharma) and god forbid you see ANY of your tax money working back for you. That is a siiinnn!! Get a brain, will ya?!

  • Come on FAA, why the fuck do you exist? Fix this shit!

  • only on domestic flight in america

  • There is a price put on every passenger's safety during flight. And the Flight crew, including flight attendants. Every time we fly, it could be the last time. But how many have to die before a real change occurs in Congress?

  • Well, finally FAA in response to the pressure from public and the congress came up with their "fatigue rules". The Airline lobby won again! These half ass rules will not go into effect for another two years! Cargo and -135 operators are excluded!

Folks, these bastards have no shame. How many more innocent people must die for the airline lobby to stop their criminal deeds against airline safety?

  • why don't the damn regionals just provide hotels for pilots before and while on a trip?

  • Survival of the fittest

  • when you think how tiring flying can be just as a passenger and getting to the airport in the morning for you holiday it gives you an idea how tiring it must be for some pilots

  • I have friends who are pilots and they do the same exact thing...

  • This why I will never be a regional airline pilot and will stick to flight instructing and charter flying. I make two and half times the amount of money versus these poor souls who have the passion to fly like myself.

  • its better to freakin pay the pilots a few more thousand dollars than to pay few million dollars for a crashed plane and 50 deaths!

  • To finish a rant - what's going to need to change is greed in the industry. Pilots are going to need to stand up for safe working environments. Too many pilots are faced with the fact that if they say no, the next guy might say yes. Then they are out of job, not to mention a poor one. There needs to be more professional representation in the industry and less laissez-faire (which is leave it be). If airlines worked with crew from the ground up as they do in europe, we may not have such problems.

  • Make no mistake - the pilots are tired. Too bad for anything to improve our government will need to see more blood..

  • @Outsourcingfighter The big problem is the industry. Pilots spend big bucks getting licensed and years working hard to get close to the regionals (at least in Canada), only to make less than most part-time employees make serving coffee at Starbucks. Airlines (especially the regionals) cut costs where it's easiest, the pilots salaries, because who is the least likely to complain (they love to fly). Its a vicious circle - and I don't think blood is going to change sentiments for profit.

  • oh, pilot's life is tough!~

  • @davehello2001 Try it, bro!!
