I loved Fall1 and 2, but I tried to play Tactics and... after an hour I had to switch to... Jagged Alliance 2!!... which of course, if you've ever played it, well... you know.... you ain't gonna be much impressed with Fallout Tactics if you've just recently played JA2...

It IS a fun game tho, just not nearly as intense as it could have been :-)

I agree, tactics is the best one (at least to me). I grew very sick of the encient turn based combat (UBER unrealistic). Having finaly playable graphics and a lot of action and gore was exacly what I wanted. I just wist Fallout 3 was like tactics, Fallout 3 has the nice world (although I see Oblivion writen all over it) but it really lacs action and monsters. Fallout 3 is a role playing RPG FPS, NOT an action FPS RPG and defentley NOT a survival (at level 10 player is basicly a GOD).

Btw fallout tactics is by far the best aside from 3, from the original's tactics is the best and i agree each had winning factors. The game just didn't get enough recognition back then.

I find Tactics the most enjoyable in the Fallout series. With a refined, action-oriented gameplay, Tactics was easily the peak of my teen gaming life! lol... I mean, come on, what's the point of having companions if you can't pull any strategic value out of them? In Tactics, you control everyone so they won't just shoot wherever and whenever they want or suddenly die on you just when you've just had a stroke of luck in that big boss battle you so desperately wanted to win.

In my opinion every fallout game has it's own pros and cons, I appreciate them all equally, fallout 1, 2, and tactics are nice in that sort of old bad graphics, interesting, fun gameplay sort of way. Fallout 3 is nice in that explosive, epic, oblivion sort of way. I just wish tactics had more people playing online. I was lucky enough to find a cheap 3-game pack with fallout 1, 2, and tactics.

Kids these days have no idea how good RPGs used to be, and they've been so spoiled by modern graphics that even if they tried to go back and play the classics, they probably wouldn't like them.

Meanwhile, there are so many people whose expectations have been shaped by garbage that game developers have no reason to pursue anything but pretty graphics, any attempt at quality is abandoned.

It's sad, but the RPG is a dying genre.

true, maybe i was looking at it the wrong way, they game had to evolve past the isometric view and turned based combat along with it. but at the sacrifice of the basic elements that made the fallout universe so appealing: the rich character development, freedom of any choice, and ability to continue playing well after the main storyline was completed. it was these things that i was disappointed with.
