  • ¿John Wilson fue vocalista de esta banda?

  • This remains the funkiest tune EVER.

Loved it in 1974 and still do.

That looks like the USA artist Steve Ferrone on drums...he took over from their original drummer who died in 1975. Ferrone is usually with Eric Clapton and many others.

No, it's not unusual to see Ferrone with a white band.

  • a white band with a black drummer gotta love it hahaha the best

  • @TheZaco47 Original drummer died of a cocaine OD. He was Scottish also.

  • I will never get tired of hearing that song, even after playing the grooves off the double live album, "Person to Person". Such an under rated band. Thanks for posting this!

  • fUnk IT MOmA!!

  • The drummer is mental!

  • Love this tune! First heard it in a great film Private Parts (HIGHLY recommended!) and couldn't find it - until now :)

  • I LOVE this version of Pick up the Pieces. The guy in the kilt is really getting down, but Steve's drum solo is the part that really takes it for me.

  • my college jazz band played this and its the shiznit

  • Dundee, Scotland is their place of origin. The drummer is from Brighton, England.

  • 51 people listen to rap.

  • @KonohiEman if they are real rappers they would respect this kind of music cos' old school rap was based on jazz and funky samples + a beat...I AM A MOTHAFUNKA!!!

  • @niks2026 MY MAN!

  • @niks2026 Yeahhh Mother funka!!!

  • @niks2026 u aint shit til i tell u

  • Way above average.

  • Steve Ferrone had to be in the band he's the only Black brother that could bring together the rythym for this song Bwahahahaha. Nah Seriously awesome band and song that after 35 years still rocks me in my Zimmerframe ahahahahaha

  • @LEBOOF ha they didn't need no Black brother to bring the funk. They had it all under control. In fact their first drummer who died was white and was totally in the pocket. Listen to the original album version of this song. There's also some other white drummer who played live at Aruba on Cut the Cake who was tight as hell.

  • @LEBOOF a black brother with a italian sounding last name! lol.

  • ..,,..,,

  • they play in perfect harmony, never seen such good live performance. absolutely great !! eventhough i don't really like funk and jazz stuff, this is AWESOME :D

  • One of the best instrumentals of The 70's. I will always think that. Deserved to be a number one single in 1975, too.

  • Been following this band since 1973. Still a great song. New music, if you like this try "Hamish Stuart" the song is "La La Land". Good to see Hamish wearing a Kilt like a proper Scotsman.

  • Man if only Bootsy was playin to this song!....this is awesome!

  • 2 Kiltz Up!

  • The drummer sucks! He too much on the one instead of f the and of like the record! I'm only saying that bcuz I grew up studying these records! Not opinion it's fact! LOL

  • @djcoolcliff But that is the drummer.

  • @djcoolcliff You said 'lol' at the end of your sentence, therefore your argument is invalid

  • Hey dabottom5612. No one thinks you're racist. Just very young if this is the first time you ever seen us white folk with soul/funk. How about KC and the Sunshine Band? Please don't include "Play that funky music white boy." That is some seriously overplayed stuff.

  • This group was tight back in the day. Makes me miss Dennis Coffey! And Fred Wesley!!!

  • This group was tight back in the day. Makes me miss Dennis Coffey!

  • Swingers

  • they should have got tracy morgan to come out like hustle man,and play the kazoo with them.

  • I love this song. But whenever I hear it now, I think of Justin Hammer from Ironman 2 dancing like a total fucking douche bag.

  • for all you youngins its called blue eyed funk and soul

  • Great guys great band......... tour managed them for 5 years 2002 to 2007. Wasn't the full line up like here but it was great! Thanks Alan and Onnie for getting me started in the biz......... Miss you guys!

  • 98 percent of teens turned to hip hop and rap am i the only kid to know that their scottish.im only 14. and look at sanborn on the sax if uve never seen a white person jam out. personally bootsy collins is my favorite bass player. or maybe jaco or victor or marcus.

  • What a great band.

  • Do you wanna get free band arrangment/midi? Visit our page

  • They are Scottish, and down with the funk. Do not judge them.

  • @brendafaye7 now that's a juicy contradiction!

  • BREAK IT DOWN IRISH MAN!!!!

  • tehee... man dress...

  • @derben16 it's called a kilt. the traditional Scottish male attire. dates back thousands of years and you're likely to get kilt if you insinuate that a Scotsman is effeminate for wearing one.

  • its these guys and larry bird who aren't black...but come on, these guys aren't white either

  • Justin hammer brought me here \:)/

  • I think of an Oakland A's win when hearing this :)

  • race has nothing to do with it, man if you got the funk you got it... they got it.

  • Missing Hamish Stuart????? I know thats not Hamish without looking :-)

  • tres cool!

  • Yes, this instrumental has some funk in it--that is for sure. I can dig it.

  • @samashton1 C11#9 (D string 10th fret; G string 10th fret; B string 11th fret and e string 11th fret) key of Ab 4/4 106 bpm

  • tighter than a duck's arse

  • dope as fuck, the trumpets go hard

  • @makavelilivz Dude,,,, they are saxophones not trumpets. Big Difference!

  • rumour is they are reforming

  • First saw this band way back in1973/4 when they did a benefit at the Marquee for the late Robbie Mackintosh's widow and been a fan ever since. Saw them again last night at Jazz Cafe in Camden after many years and they still have the groove with their 3 American soul brothers-- esp: the awesome Freddy V on sax. Great night but still miss Hamish, Steve Ferrone & the Dundee Horns-- anyone know where the latter are doing these days. Scottish funk rules.

  • now this is a masterful piece of music! who doesn't love this?

please tell me if there is a modern day band that comes close to this, because i want to hear them!

  • Civic Centre, Wolvs, Thurs 25 Aug 2011. Cool! :-))
