@simplecharmer Actually, Pigafetta's record don't say anything on who or what killed Magellan. As said before, the only thing we know is that a bunch of native soldiers ran towards Magellan, he then told his own men to retreat. And that's the last that was heard of him. Now, Pigafetta wasn't a good chronist, however he is the only source concearning this incident that exists. And I for my part think that, concearning Magellan's death, he should be trusted.

the sparring is based off of sections of basic movements or "Eart, Heaven, etc." (low to center to hight) and there are many "points". It's a filipino art, Escrima or Eskrima.

Haha! The truth is, the reason why Magellan didn't return back to Spain was because Lapu-lapu's spear hit him in one of the openings of the armor. THe opening was made when Magellan bent one of his joints. I studied this in my Social Studies class in the Philippines. But this style of Martial Arts was used to fend off colonizers and was more effective when used in the mountains.
