Hello out of interest what exam board were you when you did this. I am doing A level physics now AQA and we have to do an ISA instead of Courswork, however there is a materials and elasitcity section of our course where we learned about Hookes Law, Elasticity Limits and the Young Modulus.
very impressive, im an a level student and im currently studying maths statistics, chemistry and biology im tinkin of pikin up physics next, any tips? Oh and wot grade did u get for ur physics c/w? its very good well done on it m8
nice vid, perhaps could have mentioned coefficient of restitution, explaining exactly how much energy it retains once collided with the floor. none the less its good. i did bronze alloys in cymbals...it was....ok i guess...
i love physics! Though i still dont understand physics at the Alevel standard, i am currently preparing for my o levels. Informative video by the way. The frog's random, but it adds a nice touch to it.
not too sound noisy or anything what was your overall grade i did my as level phsyics got e but i am retaking in December so hopefully get it up to grade b
dude...you just added 25 yards to my drives! my golf buddy uses a TITLEIST with a poly core and he consistantly outhit me last year. Now I can make the switch and keep up with him knowing more thanks to your vid!!
i hav 2 exams in 2 days, all a-level physics, 2moro i have a 2.5 hr ICT exam, had another physics practical exam yesterday. (i swear im gonna die from exams)
haha scientific marble, i go to this school woo and i like physics but its friday and my brains dont work so well so i couldn't be bothered to rewind it but i will because i am intregued
Yeah I saw that when I slowed down the video. I was thinking about doing it again in between 2 larger metal plates, but I'd need a bigger more stable clamp.
I lost about 30, that then got found by kids at school. I sold about 500, and then gave away the rest at my school open day in the physics department.
The ball didn't break when dropped from a crane because it probably reached terminal velocity before it hits the ground, and that velocity is not high enough: the ball easily absorbed the kinetic energy transferred over the time period which it is squashed as it comes to contact with the ground. To break it, you either need to deliver much higher power, or you cool it sufficiently that it loses its elasticity.
Yeah, I was planning to get hold of some liquid nitrogen but for some reason none of the cryonics labs I emailed took me seriously. Cynical white coated spoil sports.

The clamp cut into the ball. I think it would've lasted longer if it was compressed by an even surface
