  • Sounds a bit like Impetigo.

  • Anyone knows what the first tune is called? Before the actual song starts

  • @eskimobbx It's the theme tune for Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Not sure if it has its own name.

  • @DisposableEntryKey

    Thanks alot bro!

  • @DisposableEntryKey

Found the name, and it is "Funeral March of a Marionette"

    Good stuff xD

  • This entire demo is basically grindcore....

  • @progmetal1456

Napalm Death covered this song :3 Yay, grindcore!

  • the first riff kinda reminds me of Living Monstrosity

  • @J0SlAH i think it is the same riff probably used it for LM because this song didnt get on an album

  • DEATH - A huge influence to Death Metal till today.

  • @InfernoxDeath LOL...this is why it's called death metal because of the band death.

  • @AtanasovPetar The first historical use of the term death metal was actually for a metal compilation called death metal. It had Helloween(Power Metal), Running WIld(Power Metal with balls), and Hellhammer. ...Hellhammer actually had elements of death metal though.

  • @ThrashedDeath Nig you be forgetting Dark Avenger, which was traditional metal like Oz.

  • I wonder where can i find the lyrics of this song, wanna make a cover of this song so bad...

  • chuck es un dios, ptmr por q chucha se tubo q morir !

  • chuck schuldiner is amazing

  • did death cover this?

  • @ifsixwasnine1000 No, this is an original song by Death, but like a lot of their demo material, it unfortunately never made it to an album.

  • 69 likes...ummm

  • maaaan i´ve been looking for the original, cause i´ve only heard the one from Napalm death... thanks maaaan

  • they so should have used this!

  • The intro and second riff reminds me of the title track from SCB, this is probably a really early and rough version of it.

  • @BludgeoningTheWeak *the first riff reminds me of living monstrosity, oops my mistake

  • @BludgeoningTheWeak That's correct dude

  • cant even hear it,ur easily led children, can,t beleave how dumb u people are. no talent , nothing there. this genre will die and never raise itz ugly head again along wth all who like it.

  • @orionconflict2007 death metal will never die, we are the only loyal fans to our music, with that said, chuck has more talent in his pinky then anyone you know, my advice to you is STOP TROLLING!

  • This song needs better audio quality. But still it sounds awesome like this

  • Death covered one of the songs from that demo.

  • damn this demo really reminds me of genocide(repulsion)

  • @speednecromancer666 it practically is. Two members of Repulsion were asked, by Chuck Schuldiner, to join Death in 1985. I think it's the brother of the vocalist (Kurt Brecht) for D.R.I., who plays drums on the album. From what I understand, he could only play two speeds: punk ( 0:46) and blast (1:09). Death, unintentionally invented grindcore! LOL!

  • @MacoutesGabber yeaa i know that scot and matt went to play in death.i havent herd this demo really so haha yea. chucks the man!!

  • Comment removed

  • @speednecromancer666 they didn't technically play in Death (god! that would have ruled!), because they disagreed artistically. But they were "in" death for small while, I think a few weeks. There's SUPPOSEDLY some tape of them rehearsing, but I never got a copy. I know that SLAUGHTER (now STRAPPADO) rehearsed with them, and there's a tape of that, floating around somewhere.....

  • @MacoutesGabber yea they left and did their own thing.damn that would b sick to have!!

  • @speednecromancer666 I went to a blog and just found it. Google "Fuck of Death" and type in "Megaupload" or "Rapidshare" or "Mediafire" and it should be on there.

    ENJOY!

  • @MacoutesGabber this lineup is Chuck, Eric Brecht (drummer on the first D.R.I. album and kurts brother) and me (Erik Meade). all of these recordings were recorded on a boombox by chuck or at a couple of shows we did at Ruthies Inn in berkley. I actually gave away my original copies and had to get them from Scott Carlson of Repulsion because chuck always sent him tapes of the rehearsals. after we split from chuck Erik joined Hirax and I started playing with a side project of the Dwarves.

  • @epicmeade I really appreciate you responding, and more importantly making this incredible tape.I don't think there was an official tape label or flyer promoting it. I wish someone would officially document this whole recording experience for the record. It created a whole genre. Thanks again for clearing things up!

  • @evelsteev thanks . it's nice to know that at least one musical project I took part in ended up having some historical significance. I remember that chuck would tape every rehearsal and then go home and make about 20 copies and mail them to people in different cities around the world with the idea that they would make copies for their friends. I guess it worked better then he could have ever imagined . I cant believe it's been 25 years. it seems like yesterday. Man, I must be old (lol).

  • @epicmeade Your words are so true. (I'm also macoutesgabber, by the way :)

Who would have thought that a musical "mishap," in the most positive sense of the word, would lead to a whole musical genre! Death not only invented death metal (as Mantas) but also invented grindcore.Yeah, I used to trade tapes with kids back in the day (1985-1987), and "Back from the Dead" used to astound us, even though it wasn't an "official" Death demo, in the way we were accustomed to.

So, you worked w/ The Dwarves?

  • This is awesome! May I ask just one question... Where do you get stuff like this?!

  • @EVISCER4TI0N Music blogs. I put a link for all Death's demos and rehearsals in the description.

  • NAPALM DEATH RUINED THIS SONG.

  • @Samoriah will you do it better?

  • @Samoriah

no you fucking idiot. i hate when people say a song is ruined because someone covered it. they are showing their appreciation of death. imitation is flattery. and if it dont sound as good as the original, the original just sounds that much better.

  • @satnmstr666

I was mostly joking. I didn't think that the song itself was ruined I just meant that their version was a disgrace to the original.

  • Good Stuff, great logo

  • @divchat...The intro is from "Alfred Hitchcock Presents". It's that show's intro...

God, I wish they would have released all of their demo tracks. They have done other ten songs that could be put into one cd.

  • Brutal song, this should be on Scream Bloody Gore!

  • @P1kk3 agreed, but it has it's own charm with the lo-fi brutal sound

  • This is damn awesome!

    Keep it old-school!

  • wats that intro song called?

  • where did u get this i want the death demos so badly!

  • I updated the description with the link to all their demos.

  • cant beleive i dint c that

    thanx!

  • Nah... At the time you asked, the links weren't there.

Most of the material in the rehearsals link are at the point of being unlistenable because the quality is so bad. But, Rigor Mortis, a song not present in any actual demo, is there.

  • ok ill check it out

  • @ThrashedDeath Hey, apparently the two links on the side here are the same, so it's only the rehersals, and not the demos. At least I think so.

If I'm correct, do you mind uploading the demos too? I'd really appreciate that.

Thanks for uploading this. It's great.

  • @ingentingvirke Oh oops, I'll try to find it.

  • @ThrashedDeath Thanks man. Greatly appreciated.

  • fucking sick

  • Sounds like he used the intro riff later in Living Monstrosity:P HAIL and R.I.P CHUCK!

  • my personal fav death track.

  • BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK FROM THE DEAD!!!

If only Chuck could do dat! :-(

  • i need lyrics of napalm's death cover back from the dead

  • Shit that was awesome.

What was the lineup during this period?

  • Er... *looks it up*

" The fifth Death demo, and the first done by Chuck after moving to San Francisco.

Schuldiner is on vocals and guitar, ex-D.R.I. Eric Brecht on drums and some guy

also named Eric doing bass duties. "

  • Didn't think I'd find accurate info by lookin it up. Thanks anyway

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • Oh yeah, awesome stuff eh?

  • Fuckin' aye!

  • Eric Brecht also played drums on Hirax's "Hate Fear and Power". Great drummer.

  • oh wait my bad, I heard the part at the beginning for the first time and I thought that was the whole song. all the other versions get right to the song. I don't know how I missed that

  • no I'm saying the music is gone. it got replaced by some gay shit

  • what the fuck happen'd to the song?!

  • What do you mean? This is a demo, it never got a studio recording.

  • I thought that was a napalm death song

  • It's not that hard to come up with a song title that's been done before.

  • no napalm's cover is on their first "leaders not followers" album, which consists entirely of covers

  • Isn't the intro bit used actually from the Alfred Hitchcock show? Anyway, Chuck And DEATH FOREVER!

  • Yep.

  • Awesome bit of death metal history here. I had no idea that Eric Brecht from D.R.I. was in Death. Thanks for posting!

  • Yeah...especially since DRI is from Texas and Chuck was in California at this time.

  • The intro is the undead dancing at a ball haha

    Eric Brecht on drums?

  • Yup. "The fifth Death demo, and the first done by Chuck after moving to San Francisco.

Schuldiner is on vocals and guitar, ex-D.R.I. Eric Brecht on drums and some guy

also named Eric doing bass duties."

Chuck owned California, Slayer's got nothing on Chuck!

  • thanks for posting this, it rules

  • Damn I wish I had this demo. This sounds awesome

  • Ive been searching this demo for years! Dude, thanks so much for posting this! Would you also have "Skill to Kill" off the same demo tape?

  • Ah yeah...I'll upload it.

  • No problem dude...hail Chuck!

  • reminds me of faces of death the music

  • Such a awesome song

  • Kick ass! pure raw death metal FTW! RIP Chuck Schuldiner

  • yess all hail the great schuldiner R.I.P

  • yippie!

    thx for the upload, man

  • Kick ass!

  • Indeed...you'd think either Morbid Angel or Sarcofago hold the blastbeat title. But nope...Chuck was way ahead of his time!

  • So true, he created the genre and he was doing things in that genre that bands didn't start doing 'til late.

  • Well yeah blast beats for a death metal band. But of course the damned jazz drummers been doing a form of it for ages before.

    \m/

  • Yeah...I've heard that a lot.

  • Nice

  • humm

  • pretty good
