I'm glad this version existed. They perfected the lighting on this awesome set. The chasing lights are brighter this time around and the $100,000 sign is more visible. During the 80s the big sign was blinded by the spotlights and the chasing lights were too dim. And, it's only found here on this version that the classic "tick tock" sound effect is up synch to the clock of the Winner's Circle.
@bphutchins they used the blue squares instead of the flippy boxed. Also, Jason Alexander was considered to host the most recent version of Pyramid. Him and Steve Harvey.
Lynn Redgrave and Jason Alexander back again. Lynn finally got a catagory that suits her to a T! I just wish that she got everything; Judy just didn't get it. Jason's partner also should have called out SUNSET for that last clue; a cell phone may have been inconvienient in 1991 but was still cool to have. The game is still exciting since it can really come down to the last word or second; by the way the Trilon/Monitor combonation is okay but I like straight Trilons better.
The monitor/trilion combination for the frontgame board may have seemed awkward, but at least it was better than that ultra-techno crap that "Donnymid" sported.
Absouletely, if CBS does go ahead with their Pyranid revival they should use this set and it is feasible. They built versions of classic game show sets for CBS's Game Show Marathon so why not this.

I got a big kick out of a cell phone being a game show prize. :-)

@jwgreek8606 How? It's exactly the same set and technology as was used in the 80s version all the way back to 82

This episode was on 9/12/91 because the Double Trouble was on Tuesday and Thursday.

But I Rather watch the donnymid pyramid than watch the truly, truly dreadful pat bullard disaster called card sharks.
