I don't know about you guys, but I just don't really like her as much. Just as rememberseptemer12 said, there's no charisma or special spark.  she just seems to be going through the motions. she has a very pretty voice but i just didn't particularly like her performance in this number. it was kind of stagnant and not very exciting.

@drowsybrowser I know Allie personally, and she writes her own original music. She has turned DOWN having a disney career (it was offered to her) among other huge opportunities. I was with her the day she got 13 at Knotts Berry farm. She strives really hard to be taken seriously oin stage later as a singer-songwriter. She is far to talented for that! Her mom, kristen, and brother (jack) and sister (avery) keep her very grounded. She's a great singer, actress, and person, too! Never a sell out!

I saw this in NY late Oct 2009. Allie was phenomenal. I actually really, really like the fact they used a girl of just 14/15 (Allie turned 15 during the show's run) for this revival rather than Ann Margaret in the original film. To me she felt too old to be a teenager living at home with her parents! Allie's voice is so beautiful. Ann Margaret's voice really irritated me.

Think Allie is incredibly talented, pitch perfect & charismatic. Plus, she's only going to get better and better.

I think this girl did way better in 13. The songs fit her voice better. She could show off her belt and it all sounded better. I think she looks the part of kim and probably acts it well but the voice does not fit. Her head voice notes are not as powerful and sort of weaken her songs.

She has an amazing voice and I have complete faith in Allie's abilities as an actress, but I strongly agree with the reviews that say she was too young and innocent to play this role. For Kim's sexual awakening in "A Lot of Living to Do" it wasn't believable at all, because though her voice is great, it still hasn't matured fully and she still looks like a fourteen-year-old, which is normal, because she IS a fourteen-year-old (or she was at the time).

But, ah, well, that's just my opinion.

I am a professional musician and music teacher, and this girl has lovely voice and she's cute :) and I know of her broadway career....but, I don't think this particular performance is very impressive. Cute.. but, it's Broadway...should have some extra "pow" or [like you said] "spark" to it.
