A few weeks ago my school finished our production of the Tempest, much more different than this, for one, it was set in the 19th century, Prospero was black, Gonzalo became the female, Gonzala, and Ariel was also turned into a woman. Oh, and Ferdinand had pants.

And Ferdinand enters everyone's worst nightmare: coming onto stage without trousers on.

I love this play. Last November I played Miranda and it was one of my absolutely favorite parts

The "faces in the magic ball" are ill-fitted. Gonzalo's shoulder is outside of it e'er so slightly. Early CGI is a charm.

@CochroachKappa lol i dont think they called it CGI in 1960. computer generated imagery usually requires a computer.

I think we should re-name Ferdinand "Prince Bananahammock".

Both Evans and Remick starred in films about Satanic spawns such as "Rosemary's Baby" (1968) and "The Omen" (1976).

wait. what is Ferdinand wearing? Wow. Is that his desert island outfit? It would be a bit chilly for Naples...

Goodness, thank you for uploading this! Off of the stage, this is the best version I have ever seen of The Tempest. Gah! Fantastic!

The costumes are brilliant. Well filmed, especially for 1960.
