I also laid down my duke 2 within the first week of owning it. I purchased a 2004 model 2 years ago. The rear tire was really worn, and I should have replaced it before I started playing with this fire. Damages were not that extensive. luckily mine was black to begin with. Love the sound and the way it just snaps to attention. Can be a hairy ride.
@sergiof44: I just took an empty 8oz can of Redbull, cut off the top and bottom, then cut a vertical slit down the backside, used some double-sided 3M tape and stuck it over the dampener.

The Red Bull can over the shock dampener is a common mod people like to do on their KTMs....
