  • Out of the almost 7,000 songs in my itunes, this is the one that has the most plays. I just never get tired of it. Love it.

  • I miss Joe Daniels [Drums]

  • Im sure the explosive popularity of Pearl Jam during the 80`s prompted him to use the line if I were Eddie Vedder would you like me even better, was actually a compliment rather than an insult!Eddie has one of the toughest voices in music,my personal opinion.Up there with greats like Jim morrison ETC.

  • @dave25239 80's??? O.o I think you mean the 90's Ten was released in 1992.

  • I don't know how anyone can listen to this song and think it was some sort of insult. Nothing about it implies that, if anything he's lamenting things. It's amazing how dense people are.

  • they should be more popular

  • That's it! I quit! I don't give a shit!

  • spread the word!

  • listen... the song is not an insult to eddie vedder. as good as dead is a concept album about a young man who feels he is being slowly eaten alive by a small town; if he doesn't get out, he's as good as dead. ignoring this fact, the lyrics of this song do not make any direct attack on eddie. hopefully this comment will fall on at least one pair of intelligent, receptive eyes. internet tough guys need not respond.

  • YA FAGS......YOU CANT TOUCH EDDIE AND PJ...LOOKS LIKE YOUR AS GOOD AS DEAD...LMFAO PJ STILL SELLING OUT SHOWS HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AND ITS 2011

  • @ohmah70 pro understanding

  • @ohmah70 You clearly missed the point of the song. You're an idiot.

  • you been trolled :}

  • @ohmah70 Clearly...

  • 2:25 show off!

  • There is no bass guitar in this song, is there?

  • @Midwestern72 no they are a 2 piece,at least this time period anyway

  • @Midwestern72 no the frontman double track guitar and bass

  • @Midwestern72 dudes low E is a bass string. watch his hands at the beginning and listen for the bass.

  • WOW..... AMAZING...........

  • In all honesty, I'll listen to Local H over Nirvana any day of the week. Scott Lucas to me, is Kurt Cobain to most.

  • @troylyons77 Bro... one hit it "huge" the other is still grinding it out. BOTH are mega talented. It's just a question of "right time, right place"....

Success can be a curse... but I think SL coulda handle it.

    "

  • how could i find out where theyre playing?

  • @morales21691 check out pollstar.com they play a lot in chicago these days. They are really great live

  • @mkora1313 coool thanks man. I'll check that out. hopefully they play somewhere near me sometime soon because i live in socal

  • are the lyrics talking about a former band member or something?

"you rode ahead as good as dead"

    really dope song btw

  • would you like me better if i was eddie vedder?

  • It's funny, because you can tell that Scott doesn't even want to fucking be there. The whole time he looks bored out of his mind.

  • is it just me or does it look like he's jerking off through the whole video

  • Man I miss the '90s...I wasn' t into alt./grunge, but nearly 20 years later, I wish I'd paid attention to it more! It's vintage now and has gotten better w/ age!!

  • omg this guy copies Curt Cobain in every aspect lol

  • @H2HSnake i ment Kurt ;p

  • @H2HSnake you know Kurt Cobain was barely original right?

  • @H2HSnake I didn't know that Kurt Cobain played right handed, had a black drummer and no bassist, rigged a guitar to play guitar and bass at the same time, wrote songs that told an actual story with hardly any metaphors or euphemisms, played using a fuzz pedal rather than a distortion one, and was still alive.

I must have been blind all these years!

  • @H2HSnake Kurt Cobain copies to Black Francis, so what's the deal? lol.

  • Hey Vevo! The song goes "That's it! I quit! I don't give a SHIT!" not "Thats it! I quit! I don't give (silence)".

  • I'm from Zion, IL!

  • I can't believe I still have this cd.

  • @sakonhagakure KEEP IT.

  • "If I was Eddie Vedder; Would you like me any better?" Maybe, Scott Lucas. But it's OK. Yr still cool.

  • lmao it just cracks me up that while he's venting he's not getting enough attention because he's not well known like Eddie Vedder. You see an advertisement on the right hand corner for a new album by Eddie Vedder,

  • Sorry guys, but i don't see how you can compare these guys with Nirvana or the Pixies.. Not even close

  • why this song is called Eddie Vedder ?

  • @ubeWlR6 Because like when he says "If I was Eddie Vedder; Would you like me any better?" He means if I was some big rockstar would you like more than who I am now?

  • @TheRealSonicYouth

That's probably what he means... but honestly, I don't know if I would or not.

  • @rileysullivan - far as i know, it was a 90's thing. you work hard, do good music (better in some cases), get compared to... and then confused with.... eddie vedder...

oh wait... you AREN'T who i thought ya were....

if i was eddie vedder, would ya like me?

    that kinda thing.

  • Ok, that's it , I don't........ give a shit!

  • that was in chicago

  • think i saw them open for Stone Temple Pilots in 93. Before the cobain tragedy

  • One of their best songs. Simple.

  • Why is this called "Eddie Vedder"? I thought it was called "As Good as Dead?"

  • @rileysullivan The album this song is from is called "As Good as dead". The song is (and always was) called "Eddie Vedder".

  • Theyre really local to me, I'm from Chicago. Seattle might have produced the more mainstream grunge acts, but the best came outta Chicago.

  • @unchboy chicago had really good alt bands in the 90s i think soul coughing is from chicago?

  • Saw them in concert recently.

It's good to see a singer who's willing to get in fights with idiots in the crowd, and they played all their singles, a few covers, and a new song. A great set.

  • actually they didnt form until 1992

  • An excellent video, from an amazing, amazing band. Scott Lucas is a genius.

  • ive always thought of scott lucas as a mixture of billy corgan and cobain, though i feel his emotional thinking is the closest to cobain out of all the bands in the 90's

  • @supermonkeyman12 It makes sense to, They were grunge, but from the Pumpkins' hometown of Chicago.

So being somewhere in between is not far fetched.

  • I like this.

  • great band, but why they not famous????

  • @TheLester4444

Because they are a great band ironically. Famous bands suck and the underdogs like lh always win in the end.

  • @TheLester4444 Im from Chile if i know about Local H ... Thay are famous, maybe they are not living in the playboy mansion but their work is priceless and actitude too.

  • Grundge :D

  • I hate u vevo!

  • I'm amused that sh!t was censored. This ain't broadcast television...

  • This one was as good as Bound For The Floor, in my opinion. But everything on As Good As Dead was great!

  • love it!!

  • oh it was just uploaded last month. but still...

  • uhm what? 5 comments and only 700 views?

  • nice!!

  • thanks for uploading, been lookin for this for a while and the other version sucks.

  • Local H is beast!!!!

  • Such an awesome band and song! Local H has to be the best grunge band to come out after Cobain died.

  • @tdog52436 They actually came out around the same time in 1987, so they were actually Cobain's contemporaries. They didn't record an album until after Cobain died though.

  • @BU2K12 Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Seriously, I really do like knowing what bands got started out when. It helps me appreciate how groundbreaking bands like Local H really were. I mean, who sounded like this in 1987?

  • @tdog52436 The first ever, non-snide YouTube response to a correction. Awesome. I'm happy to be part of history.

  • @BU2K12 Thanks :) I try.

  • @tdog52436 the pixies kinda

  • @TheRealSonicYouth Yeah, I guess. Pixies were more artsy, experimental, while Local H is pretty straightforward hard rock. Both great bands, no disputing that.

  • @tdog52436 To be honest, a lot of bands sounded like this in 1987 mostly due in part by grunge being a heavy offshoot of hardcore punk, i.e. Big Boys, Minor Threat, Scratch Acid, Laughing Hyenas. Local H actually began as a band because of their appreciation for Nirvana. Here is Scott Lucas in 1988 playing a song in high school. Not exactly indicative of his later stuff, but it's a start: youtube . com / watch?v=PWZyzfEQlPY

  • @BU2K12 Drum from 1991 says something different :)

  • @tdog52436 they were here at the same time, not after.. but i agree w/ the comment!! :D

  • @tdog52436 dammn right!!!
