  • it didnt work with mine i dont no why but so far no matter how close or how many time i try i dosent work :(

  • Comment removed

  • i lost my pokewalker :( if i buy a new one can i still use it on my soul silver? PLZ COMMENT BACK I AM DESPERATE

  • @eman7100 Link to buy is in the description (As of this comment they are $8.95 + $1 if you want the clip back, which I recommend). Up+Select+R at the PokéWalker menu screen can be used to force the Pokémon that was strolling back into the game. From there, the game will consider itself to have no tied-in PokéWalker, allowing you to use the new one once you get it.

  • i have a frowny face!! what do i do?

  • @JaneGirl367 A frowny face on the Pokémon's emoticon bubble? I don't think I've ever seen that...

Try pressing the center button and see if you get Watts or an item? Usually that's what the emote bubbles indicate.

  • @KooperKoushiro i've pressed the middle button like 7 times and it just does the same thing

  • @JaneGirl367 Not sure if it's a frowny face or not, but an initialized (i.e. right after you activate it) PokéWalker has kind of a " :| " face. If that's the case, it's ready to receive a Pokémon from the HG/SS game.

If you already put a Pokémon in there, and the Pokémon is making the frowny face, then I'm afraid I've never seen that happen.

  • @KooperKoushiro actually the frowny face happened BEFORE i could activate it so i havent even gotten the chance to activate it

  • @JaneGirl367 There shouldn't be anything on the screen pre-activation (i.e. pulling out the tab). I'm guessing the frowny face is the icon on screen at 0:44 of this video. If so, it just needs a Pokémon put in.

  • okay, so my boyfriend gave me his pokewalker and after he unregistered his, i want to be able to use it for mine. but in your description, it says you can only have one per game but then what are the two extra slots for when you put a pokemon in the pokewalker? and also, what do you mean by "oporating 6 pokewalkers off of 1 game"?

  • please reply!!!!!!!!!!! how do you switch routes on the pokewalker. i need to know how!!!!!!!!!

  • @hersheyiscool17 To switch routes, you'll have to 'Return from a Stroll' on the DS, transferring the Pokémon back to HG/SS. Then you can deploy that Pokémon (or another one) with 'Go on a Stroll' which should prompt you to choose the route.

  • @hersheyiscool17 just return rom scroll adn resent than u kan pick a new route

  • Kooper Koushiro how do you get a pokemon out of your pokewalker, all mine says is go on a stroll.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ThefunPokemonMakers If you have a Pokémon in your PokéWalker but your linked HG/SS game doesn't display that said Pokémon is on a stroll, then you can't get that Pokémon back. (All data for the Pokémon is stored on the game card, not the PokéWalker.) If there's no option to 'Return from a Stroll', the best you can do is reset the PokéWalker to factory default with Down+X+L and put a new Pokémon in it.

  • people should learn to wait for the amarican version to come out..

  • @toybirdy I agree muchly.

Though I have no problem with people who know Japanese buying the Japanese version of games.

-Kooper, ribbing on ROMs/English Patches there.

  • Too bad it falls out of pockets. I lost mine

  • @MrFool59 They aren't cheap, but you can buy replacements. And of course you can force the Pokémon on them back to the game.

Recommendation: Don't use the non-clip back with shallow pockets.

  • @KooperKoushiro thanks. ill keep that in mind. are they availible in specific places

  • @MrFool59 Only available from Nintendo's online store. Check the video description for the link. (Currently, they're $9.) Be advised that the PokéWalker unit alone does not have the clip cover, so you'll have to cough up an extra buck for that borderline necessary attachment.

  • mine dident come with a tab

  • Thx So much You finally Fixed my Problem since i lost my SS Manual i didnt know what to do But u Helped finally can use my Pokewalker with my new file ^^

  • Hey i Need Help. I Started All Over On My SoulSilver and now the Pokewalker

Wont Connect it says to wait five seconds but ive waited for like 20 minutes and it

didnt work. Does it mean it only Responds to the old file now?PLz Help Thx ^^

  • @Leafeoz You should be able to tell the PokéWalker to go back to factory default by going to PokéWalker screen on your new file and pressing Down+X+L. Then connect, which will blank out the current PokéWalker info. It's been a while since I did it firsthand, but use that combination and see what comes up. Page 52 of the SoulSilver manual also has some details on the process.

Note that you can't pull the Pokémon back that was on there, if any, since that data was stored on the old SS file.

  • why is it in japanese?

  • @rataranian Ask yourself: Was Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver available in a language besides Japanese on October 16th, 2009?

  • my nintendo has that color too

  • OMG cut ur nails it's discusting :-&

  • if you have a different pokewalker not the original one then you connect it to your ds will your different pokewalker work?

  • @shadowgoldxx Only one PokéWalker can be the "true" PokéWalker connected to a game card. But, if you lost the old one, for example, you can force the Pokémon on it back to the game, then associate the game with the new PokéWalker.

If you later find the other one, it can still transfer Watts, Items, and Pokémon to the game card--it's just stuck on that course unless you want to redo the whole process.

I did this intentionally to have three Walkers with Pokémon from my SoulSilver.

  • is it worth the pay and does it ever run out of batteries

  • @423goku It comes with a new copy of HG/SS, no extra charge. (Apart from HG/SS being overtly overpriced compared to other DS games as a result.)

Extras/replacements are in the $10 range (I've seen them at $15 and $9 on Nintendo's site) and though the battery won't last forever, it's a fairly common one to replace and the data is safeguarded by a backup + storing most of the info on the DS Game Card anyway.

  • @KooperKoushiro thank you but just wanted a yes or no

  • @423goku Well, the average person probably doesn't need any extra copies apart from the one that comes with the game. I'm a Pokéholic and require 6 of these things (full party) before I'm satisfied. So I would make sure your copy of the game comes with one, but that one should be all you need.

  • @KooperKoushiro thank you

  • you kinda scared me at the hold it part in the video i was reading the instruction manual on the poke walker lol

  • hey, can you get in english too?

or is that just a JP version?...

  • would my pokewalker also work on another version of the game? :\

( hope its not a stupid question o_o)

  • dude get a dsi or a dsi XL

  • is this game worth to buy?

  • i get 1000 each day

  • mine is frozen nothign will work on it. i heard about doing the down x l thing but will that reset all of the routes too?

  • omg i cant do mine it says i gotta register it

  • That's why I don't get games from japan I wanna know if a pokemons on the walker Is it still in your box

  • its not a lcd screen

  • I press coonnect to pokewalker and it says i need to atleats have 1 pokemon in my pc box and how do i do that

  • @silentmelody12 If you don't know how to catch a Pokémon and/or use the PC, I'm not telling you.

  • @KooperKoushiro

    LMFAO

  • @KooperKoushiro thats mean

  • yeah uhhh i lost my Pokewalker....I wish they had put a Little Signal thing in it like a beep... When u try to find it. Like go to your main menu on SS or Hg and click Signal pokewalker. or something and The pokewalker beeps till You find it.

  • it dosent make sense, i have the heartgold game,,, and it tells me that i have no pokemon in a pc box? can u gelp me out?

  • you can catch legandarische pokemon in the pokewalker

  • @nazlo88 Lol, finders keepers I guess. You should be able to transfer any gifts / watts by using "Receive Gift" instead of "Return from a Stroll". You can't get the Pokémon back from another game's PokéWalker since it's actually stored on the game card. (Otherwise it'd be a MUCH easier way to clone...) If you want to reset the PokéWalker to factory default so you can use it yourself, hold Down+X+L at the PW screen and connect with it. Just remember you can only "truly" link 1 PW to 1 game.

  • @KooperKoushiro hay i cant do it plz help it says its register and i do the X +l thing plz help or do a video

  • @raptorx71 I forget which does what, but the two combos are Down+L+X and Up+Select+R. Some combination of those should return your PokéWalker to factory default and allow you to connect it freshly.

If you're not even getting the "Caution!" and so on messages, check that your shoulder buttons (L & R) are functioning because a lot of DS's lose those buttons first.

  • lol hold it

  • please can someone give me a hart gold or soul sliver game for ds but not the poke walker someone stole my game and i just got it yesterday please someone reply

  • Hello, we can't figure out how to do this... help my son just got this game yesterday.... And now one of the pokemon is lost too. On his ds it says he's on a stroll. And on his podewalker he is not there. What should he do now? We read the directions and can't find anything about this. Please help me get him back. Thanks,

  • @AutumnOctober83 Annoyingly, it's the game manual (p.52), not the PokéWalker fold-out, that tells you all the important stuff. At the "Return from Stroll / Receive gift" screen, press Up, Select, and R and you'll be able to force the Pokémon back into the game. (Clearly without any level gained) Afterward, you might need to try to reset the PokéWalker itself by similarly pressing Down, X, and L. Use the 'Connect' option on the PokéWalker to communicate and it should reset to factory default.

  • @KooperKoushiro OMIGOD OMIGOD THANKYOU KOOPER!!! i lost my pokewalker w/ my shiny butterfree and i am soooooooooooooo frikin thankfull to you by tellin how to force it back :D THANKYOU!!!

now i gotta buy a new pokewalker "-.-

  • @ThaAwesomeness It's in the manual; don't you kids read those things these days? :P

Link to buy a new one is in the description. It's like $15. :\

  • @KooperKoushiro haha, i didnt know you could force it back in the first place so i never though too look in the manual, and no, no one i know ever reads the manual.

  • @KooperKoushiro

    i red the manual!

  • @AutumnOctober83 umm what pokemon was it i will trade your son that pokemon

if its a starter it will probably b lv 12 or somink

  • are u able to turn it off? cause my wont

  • @bobisbogging Wait for a bit and it will got to sleep. It will save battery power.

  • If you lost your PokéWalker or whatever, you can force your Pokémon back, no worries. Consult the game manual (or Serebii or something) for the button combination to press at the PokéWalker screen. I forget which does what, but use those and you can reset your PokéWalker to blank and/or force your dood back.

Also, you can buy replacements at a link I will post as a reply.

I have 4, planning on buying 2 more. Also, the language synchs to whatever language game you associate it with.

  • @KooperKoushiro (lulz self-reply) Due to YouTube thinking 18+ stuff would be linked to in comments, link to purchase additional/replacement PokéWalkers is in the description.

  • @KooperKoushiro KAN U TELL ME HOW TO RESET THE POKEWALKER BUKUZ ME FRIEN MESSED HIS UP N HE NEEDS HELP SO KAN U RITE ME BKK N TELL ME HOW TO RESET IT PLLZ N DNK U

  • @transformer245 Lol at your spelling !

  • gaw i hate the pokewalker. i juss lost mine so i dont like it anymore...

  • How can i re register my pokewalker to my soul silver if i restarted the game? please help me! Reply as soon as possible!!!!!

  • what are watts and what do they do?

  • how do you get three pokemon on the pokewalker?! i can only get one and ive unlocked every thing...

  • @samusbionicle You should be able to PokéRadar as many times as your watts allow... Assuming you're familiar with the standard method of catching, I don't see why you'd have trouble capturing three fairly quickly. (I use them for junk Pokémon to trade--saves buying Poké Balls!)

  • ehh what do u use pokewalker for. can u train pokemon or what

  • @zombi1222 Training is minimal. Happiness goes up, and you can up its level once per "stroll" (take it out and put it back in regularly for most efficient leveling).

The main use its collecting items and Pokémon, including some that are hard to get or PokéWalker-exclusive.

  • its SO like a tamagotchi.

  • jeez! the Hold It! scared me to death!

  • i lost my pokewalker

  • do u need wi-fi to do this because my PW isnt connecting to the ds and my pokemon wont go in -_-

  • @naruto4evacouples no u dont need wi fi u must be doing something wrong

  • this nigga speaks japanese

  • do you even know japanese

  • Will only a japanese pokewalker work with the japanese rom or can i use a US one because I've tried to use my cousin's but it always says "No trainer found"

  • Rom?

If you mean a pirated version, it only works with legitimate versions, because the wireless hardware is in the cartridge itself, and isn't present on Emulators or Flashcards.

  • @chawookie729 pokewalker won't work with roms, the infra read is in the game cart

i actually laughed a bit at pocket mans :P

  • i cant hear you man SPEAK LOUDER

  • how can u put new batteries into it?

  • you unscrew the back...

  • @derFischmoerder thats what she said :P

  • use a screw driver if you no wat a techdeck is use that tool and unscrew the back

  • its 5 inches not 5 centimeters

  • Its 5 centimeters -.-

  • it says in the manual 5 centimeters.

  • I can BARELY hear you!?

  • guys how do i get the otehr 2 pokemon in my walker? it shows 2 greyed out things.

  • Comment removed

  • How do you reset if you start a game over?

  • Oh. And it also keeps counting steps even when in sleep mode

  • Battery power last about 4 months. There us no on/off switch. The screen will turn off after about 10-15 seconds of inactivity

  • id get it cause but i lost my ds lol

  • How do you turn it on and off?

  • it goes into sleep mode by it self.. u cant turn it off.. and u awaken it by pressing the center button

  • @LAGalaxyMichael

There are settings on the Pokewalker that let you turn the beeping sounds on or off.

  • from the left to the right.

    poke radar, 10 watts

    dowsing, 3 watts

connect, meaning to send back or fight/trade wth another poke walker

    trainer card

    pokemon & items

    and settings.

  • it beeps a tune when a pokemon leaves or enters the pokewalker

  • Got it working thanks!

  • I don't understand how to do it >:0 it's not working help please?

  • I got it today :D

  • awesome man it comes out tmmarow n wen the store opens im rushing in i have 50 bucks already

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, and about how long does battery power last?

  • Wow i just got done playing phoenix wright too... i think its getting to me with the HOLD IT and OBJECTION.

  • jobo?!

  • umm how do u charge it or do u put batteries in it or wat do u do

  • @drcasper24 its one of those flat batteries. i believe the type is cr2302 or something

  • they should make like a solar powered pokewalker so people would really need to go outside instead of cheating and do stupid shit with it :3

  • @brittanyS123 I agree.

  • I preordered the pokemon Heartgold version for the US. It looks like the pokewalker is going to be awesome! It is sure pretty small!

  • i love how every pokewalker video has the person shaking the pokewalker and nothing happens.

pokewlker" uhhh im not a morron you know, i can tell your shaking me."

  • Yeah, it's kind of a bummer...but if you shake it enough, eventually your Pokémon goes off screen and you get "bonus steps" of some kind. So it's not a TOTAL waste. I prefer clipping it to my foot and bobbing it; that way I still have my hands free to EV Train or whatever.

  • nvm that then

  • well, have a question for ya, does the pokewalker need it's own batteries or can it be charged with the ds charger?

  • Comment removed

  • does the pokewalker evolve pokemon

  • @RoyalForgotten not it doesnt

  • i wonder if the english pokewalker could read the japanese catridge and if it can (hopefully) i could get back my aliga lvl 85 :'(

  • No, I didn't like FRLG much at all...

Chiefly due to the most locked-down trade restrictions ever imposed on a game in the main series. Plus I didn't think the music sounded as good as it could have been. (Johto remixes in the Sevii Islands were good though.)

I'm just glad HGSS isn't so bloody finicky about trades.

  • I totally agree, there's little reason to import now unless you REALLY want the slots back in the Game Corner. (They've subbed in a better Voltorb Flip game in non-Japanese versions) I had reservations about importing it myself once I found that it wouldn't be delayed a full year like the original G/S were. Also, I'm seeing HGSS retailing for around $40, likely an extra $5 tacked on over standard PKMN price for the PokéWalker. At least that's what my pre-order figure box from Best Buy tells me.

  • Fancy pants. :o Ya, I remember using the Pokémon Pikachu (and 2 GS). I lost it at Six Flags amusement park when I dropped it off a bridge into water. I'll try not to do that when I eventually get this one.

  • ok...

now i need to know a thing

since i lost my pokewalker who contain the data of feraligatr

IF i use a new pokewalker at the game ... does the game will send data to pokewalker so i gonna get back my feraligatr?

  • Well, the data for your Pokémon is probably stored on the HGSS cartridge...but I can't say for sure. I can read some Japanese, but not nearly enough to decipher that manual.

  • could u ask a friend or someone who really know japanese and know VERY WELL the pokewalker? it would be so cool :O

and thank for ur answer ^^ that give me soem hope to get aliga back :)

  • and plus, no one sell pokewalker on ebay :'( onl games with the pokewalker :(

  • Comment removed

  • how can u start a new game on the pokewalker i start a new game on my pokemon game and i do not know how to get it to reset it can you tell me how to reset my pokewalker

  • I need to find that out myself, as I restarted my HeartGold. I'm waiting to see if I can tie a US PokéWalker to my JP HeartGold though. (Doubt it)

Removing all the batteries (including a possible backup battery) should work to clear the data on it, but you may want to wait for the US PokéWalker manual to see if there's a safer/easier way.

  • I wonder how i gonna play SS with no pokewalker

i mean i L.O.S.T my pokewalker :'''( and i dont remember where i lsot it ... i tried to search in the house but no success ...

and i dont know how to get a second pokewalker :'( (unless to buy a second game) ¬¬

  • it is like a better version of a tamagochi or what ever but i wonder how long the battery last

  • It's pretty much nothing like a Tamagotchi apart from being a small portable LCD device. You can't evolve on the Pokémon, and they definitely don't die after a certain time. (The only effect time really has is resetting your step count to 0 everytime midnight is reached.)

As far as the battery, I'm not sure how long it lasts, but probably a good while. All the data (unlocked courses, total Watts accrued, etc.) is saved on the HG/SS game card, and there's probably a backup battery anyway.

  • is HG or SS better ?

  • As with all paired games, it's a matter of preference.

The deciding factor may come in which Lati twin you want to be able to soft reset for with the Enigma Crystal event...Latios in HeartGold, Latias in SoulSilver. You get the other one as a roamer in Kanto even without the event.

When they come out stateside my main file between the two will be SoulSilver, since I had Silver instead of Gold during second gen.

  • FACT: teddiursa has just lower attack than a swellow (by 5) n' with facade and poison on teddiursa it can be stronger than a commen swellow on wifi !!! btw teddiursa is a NFE

    NFE = not fully evoled

  • Uh, sorry, but no...

Teddiursa doesn't get Guts until it evolves into Ursaring. Until then its options are Quick Feet (still can't break 300 even with a Jolly nature) and Pick Up, which I know because I have a Teddiursa on my Pickup team. Guts means Swellow's slightly higher attack is now significantly higher. For that matter, Taillow with Guts up is stronger than Teddiursa. And that's ignoring their huge speed advantage.

It's cute, though, and not a godless killing machine quite yet.

  • HEY! What kind of battery dose the pokewalker use?????!!!!!!!!

  • Mine came with a Maxell CR2032 battery. One of those disc batteries you see in small devices.

  • nice video, it gave me more insight on the pokewalker
