I'll never understand why people berate star trek fans for doing this. We all have our little quirks, things that make us happy and not many are nearly as harmless or creative. How many people go out every week to just get pissed, wasted or gamble weeks wages away? Unless you spend your time and money on only purposeful pursuits then you're just a hypocrite! Being conformist and calling people geeks and losers doesn't make you cool, it just makes you a herd following sheep. Think for yourself!

What amazes me is how many people act like they are so much better than these people, yet they dont just ignore them, they hang around, troll and make diparaging comments. If you dont like them/us, go elsewhere!

Ive been to a convention in Edinburgh around 10 years ago. Most of the people there are just normal people who enjoy the show, theres only a small amount who actually dress up.
