I watch your videos all the time and I just love them. Because the weather here in Gainesville, Fl has gotten colder, and I have been experiencing itching all over my body. To solve this issue I started showering in olive oil, almond oil, and walnut oil with a fragnance oil added. In a couple of days the itching has stop and I love the way my body feel. I eliminated using body soap while doing this cleansing method. Oil cleansing method is great for the entire body as well as the face.

@tashaterrell313 I'm so happy for you! Your story sound similar to mine so I'm planning on trying this method. How long did it take the acne to clear?
im scared this would break me out because i have oily combination skin! AHHH!! YOUR SKIN IS AMAZING AND I REALLY WANT TO TRY IT!! im just sooooo scared!! what do you think?
I use this process and it really works. My skin looks and feel baby soft. Oh, one exception, I only use "white" wash cloths on my face, no DYES in white clothes.
the first time i saw one of your videos the first thing i notice was how good your skin looked, now i understand why, ive been doing this for 4 days and i c and feel a big difference already.
I tried this yesterday and now my face is swollen. I don't think my skin agrees with olive oil. I have the worst reactions to the most simple things. Maybe I will wait a few months then try again.
@BeautiLondon you might want to try replacing the olive oil with jojoba oil. Some people use grapeseed or hazelnut oil too, depending on the type of skin they have. good luck!
I have been using this method for a few days and my skin has never felt or look better. A Question... Do you also use regular soap to clean your face? Or just the OCM only? Thanks!
@m041383 I suffered from acne and it does, just takes a bit longer. It draws out impurities and you will feel granules, also it will condition your skin so that it doesn't produce oil for your dry skin that you dried out using cleansers.
You can use peanut oil as EVO is better for being ingested, also rice bran oil is good.
Just make sure to give yourself a good massage with the oils and relieve stress
LOVE, love, love this method, I've been doing it for a month and my skin feels clean, soft, relax and moisturized, the sensation is really great, thank you for sharing
This was interesting! I had never heard of this before. It obviously works because your skin is amazing. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin especially on my face so I'm hesitant to try this. Oils usually break me out but those are oils that have fragrance. I've been using ambi black soap to keep my face clear for a while now, however it leaves my skin soooo dry so I'm looking for an alternative. Any suggestions for sensitive skin?
@AndieLuvs2Laugh This should be perfect for sensitive skin. The oils that you've been using with fragrance have probably been mineral oil based; mineral oil isn't a healthy oil like vegetable oils, it's actually a byproduct of petroleum being turned into oil. So, trying to use a healthy oil like plant oils (castor and then the olive/jojoba/grapeseed) should be fine for your skin!
Hi. Thank you for posting. This is great. I have been using this method for about a week and have noticed my skin feels and looks much better. However, I still have about 3 blackheads on my face. What is your recommendation for getting rid of blackheads?
hi there :)) was wondering - do you use this everyday? what do you mean by using it regularly? is it too much to use everyday? i have combo-oily skin and im asian lol ahah :)) thanks.
@purpler0ses I like to do it during the colder months, plus I have dry skin. If you have oily skin then you would use more Castor Oil and less of the other oil. You have to find the right ratio. Its not too much for everyday, I just use my regular black soap cleanser and that works great for my daily cleanser. Hope this helps my asian sista lol :O)
@MrsJdafirstlady This doubles as a makeup remover, even for stubborn waterproof makeup (because waterproof is usually either an oil-based or non-polar substance like the oil itself and like dissolves like so you get the drift). The way that the oil dissolves your skin's oil is the same way that it will get rid of makeup.
Love your video, your skin is glowing. This method is so good for toning as well cos it increases circulation and the cloth exfoiliates well. Olive oil is the best, leave it in your hair for a few minutes (you can put a bag/ shower cap over your head or pin your hair up while it's soaking) and then shampoo out (careful, it makes the shower slippery!). Great for conditioning. Also, if you have contact dermititus, this is a pretty much instant cure.
OMG! THANK YOU AFRICAN EXPORT!!! I just went and mixed some in my hand! (I have so many containers of 'potions') Used it...and...the blackheades/clogging on my nose and delicate skin on the sides of my nose...GREATLY reduced! Skin GLOWING! I am so happy! This is the TRUTH! I'm happy that I can use the same stuff I buy for food/hair can be used on my face as well!
This works. I have been doing this for years and people always comment on how great my skin looks. Actually, using harsh soaps, or soap in general, messes up the skin. It strips it of it's natural ability to heal itself. (the same reasons why we avoid sulfate shampoo) Love this. Also, olive oil is the best way to remove make-up!!!
Hi AE, thanks for this, I'm thinking of trying this out. Just a question, do you change anything in this routine between winter and summer? Does hot weather change the look of your skin? I'm worried about looking too oily in a hot climate.
I haven't researched this method yet, does your skin feel clean after?? Is there an oily residue after you finish wiping it off at all, even a slight amount?? Your skin looks great!
@trulife12345 Apply olive oil to your face liberally using a cotton pad, massaging the pads upwards to avoid sagging your skin. After a couple of minutes working the oil, rinse a clean face cloth (older cloths exfoiliate better) and gently rub in circular motions removing the oil, again making sure not to pull or stretch your skin. Rinse the cloth and repeat until you are satisfied your face is oil free. Pat dry. Your skin will be moisturised but not oily and super soft!
I'm going to try this I have extremely sensitive skin which is also combination at the moment I am having microdermabrasion treatment for my scarring and pigmentation I hope this will help aswell
You have beautiful skin is it partly due to using this method? I have very dry skin with some hormonal acne around my chin. How much castor oil would you say to use for that then? By the way, I know that olive oil is good for your skin but what does the castor oil do for us? I've only ever used it to help myself go into labour. :P
LOVE IT! So I'm going to start doing this method to cleans my face. Right now I exfoliate because of my oils skin. I wanted to know if should I still do that an then use this method or just do this method only and if so. Are you suppose to do this every day and night?
@eLLeBO0GIE Tupe Moptopmaven oil cleansing and you can find more information about different oils you can use if you have oily skin dry skin or acne prone skin.
Omg. So I did this method. My skin is SO SMOOTH. Not a dry skin flake in sight. I don't even remember my skin feeling this good. Its has a glow to it. I was like I have all these oils already so why not. But this was an amazing treat. Most def will be putting this into rotation. Thanks!

i am trying this without castor oil...just EValmondO...will it work...btw, I was wondering what blackheads look on people with dark skin...is it noticable?
@lenobaleno you have to use the castor oil because that is the oil that has the cleansing properties. The more of it that you use in the mixture the more cleansing it will be. I have dry skin so i use less castor more moisturizing oil.
@AFRICANEXPORT thanks girl, I just made my first batch (75% EV almond oil 25% castor and a few drops of tea tree oil), been using for just over a week now and my nose has cleared up so well...blackheads literally started popping out of the pores on the 3rd treatment. Thanks heaps! xoxox
Just seeing this for the first time so I ran to my bathroom to give it a try. My skin is OILYYYYYY so I hope this helps! I used lots of castor oil just to be sure!! lol
@alevan1 Thank you so much . Try the oil cleansing method it really works, if you have oily skin, up the amount of castor oil and use a good steamy towel .
wow thanks for sharing this. ive noticed that all the ladies here on youtube that use this method have beautiful skin. so im sure it really does work. im going to definately give this method a try. thanks again much love ~JESSICA LEMONS JACKSON~ ♥
I have oily skin, therefore how often can i use this method only. I dont want to use any soaps. I was thinking about using once a day. What do you think ? My routine has been twice a day , morning and night, followup with toner , small portion of oil and then a little moisturizer. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
I started this method last night and did it again this morning. I can't wait until I see some benefits from this. I been taking maca and it broke my skin out a lil bit.
You have the most beautiful skin I have seen and it really sells me on this cleansing methold. Thanks for demostrating so effectly and the the amounts of oil.
Thanks for this video. I was skeptical at first about the oil until I read a comment that you used it on your daughters who suffers from eczema. I also suffer from eczema and will always try anything natural to treat my skin. Do you have any recommedations for essential oils to add?
I also have been using this method for about two weeks and I have noticed an extreme difference in my skin. I really love this method, I have combination skin and acne prone, but I put this on my mom that I have not had a break out, and my skin is clearer, and the EVOO helps for moisture. Thank you AFRICANEXPORT I have just added this video to my favorites .
@brwnskinnedbeauty aww thanks chica. I am so glad that this helped. I have dry skin and its helping as well. I love the way my skin feels. I did this method on my daughter who suffers from ezema and has very dry skin and she was so excited about how soft her skin was and she is 9 lol. :o)
Thanks for reminding me of this unique way of cleansing the skin! I have a few questions for you, please. Do you use castor oil from the pharmacy aisle or somewhere else? Since you use this method nightly and you use black soap in the morning, how do you moisturize and protect your skin (SPF) during the day? Also I have combination/oily skin, so I'm thinking about making a ratio of two parts castor oil to one part extra virgin olive oil, but I'll do more research and play around with it.
@mamudo29 no its a brand called africans best herbel oil. Not from africa.

@AFRICANEXPORT what type of stupidass question was that?
GroovLouv 1 year ago
Won't it make you break out if you have oily/acne prone skin??
ShubhpreetC 1 year ago
I don't have castor oil, is it okay if I just use olive oil alone?
Loolee 1 year ago
@Loolee Olive oil doesnt have th e"cleasing" properties like castor oil. Castor oil is easy to come by, you can probably find it at most drug stores.

@laxmibhsl I doubt it, but if it does, I don't care because I get threaded every other week anyways.

sarahjf2007 1 year ago
if I have makeup on will the OCM really clean my skin throughly? should I use my Thayers witch hazel after or will that defeat the benefits?
sarahjf2007 1 year ago
Thanks for this video. I was skeptical at first about the oil until I read a comment that you used it on your daughters who suffers from eczema. I also suffer from eczema and will always try anything natural to treat my skin. Do you have any recommedations for essential oils to add?
PeechCutie 1 year ago
I also have been using this method for about two weeks and I have noticed an extreme difference in my skin. I really love this method, I have combination skin and acne prone, but I put this on my mom that I have not had a break out, and my skin is clearer, and the EVOO helps for moisture. Thank you AFRICANEXPORT I have just added this video to my favorites .
love ya girl...
brwnskinnedbeauty 1 year ago
