My Dyson weighs far too much, causing me to push it harder, causing baseboards to become chipped, because there's no "rubber bumper" along its front edge, just hard plastic. It's like vacuuming with a VERY heavy computer printer on wheels.
There is nothing that comes close to the quality of kirby, rainbows, or miele. But with all of them, the Kirby is legendary - I've seen _70_ year old models kicking modern vacuum's butts.
my grandmoter had a kirby it weighed about ooo idk 55lbs but that was the best vaccum cleaner ive ever used, my aunt has it now and it's about 22 years old now and it still work's and has never broke. I actually still have a kirby dealer in my town
Kirbys have the least amount of power of any vacuum cleaner. You think its so powerful cause its heavy. Trust me its not. It barley has 30 pounds of suction.
kirbys dont have much suction from a straight hose. their power comes from the nozzle design. check out my video of my kirby and you will see. they need the nozzle attachment to create a vortex
I bet that turning ball simply increases hand fatigue.
The beauty of regular wheels is that you use the strength of your entire arm to move it back and forth. Your hand basically stays still and is comfortable.
The paper test could be failing due to the large debris channel at the front, which is normal. To be honest though, the ball was a gimmick too far for my liking.
I have noticed that alot of bad reports have been from the US market. The UK market seems very content with the performance. Now we are not known for blind patriotism, so it leads me to believe that perhaps the 110/115 volt motor may not be as good as the 230 volt device used in the UK. Just a thought.
get a Riccar, good one is 1/3 the cost and will outdo that Kirby anyday and comes with a 5yr warrenty Kirby is supposed to last a lifetime but they only give you 2 years. The carpet cleaner that comes with it is trash is well, it does nothing but leave a bunch of lint on your carpet
Riccar Vacuums are very nice, but I've gotta stand by my Kirbys. My 1965 Dual Sanitronic is just now is ready for a motor overhaul. They may not be at the top of performance, but they do last forever.
the new Miele uprights are out this year. Up until now, they've all been made by Panasonic Europe. I have a Miele with a powerhead and it's brilliant!
that is very sad Bissle rated better than a Dyson but it doesn't surprise me because one of the nicer Bissles can easily outdo the Dyson cause the DC07 has only 58cfm a Hoover Windtunnel 2 has 97cfm Dyson price $429 Hoover? $233 at Wal Mart that should tell you something
I suggest you get a Riccar, for about $500 which is what you paid for that I'm positive, you can get a COMMERCIAL vacuum with the use of metal on the brush roller, bottom plate, and handle and much lighter and picks up better than my $1800 Kirby so what does that tell you? I got a Riccar and I'm very, VERY pleased with it
I'll have to try this with my DC21 Motorhead, hopefully I'll get around to it next week. Hose suction is good, but we'll see how well it is spread across the nozzle...
I called the Dyson customer service many, many times and had 2 Dyson engineers come to look at it and they said it was how the Dyson was meant to work!! All Ball Dyson's have the same suction as in the video!
In the end I got my money back, but it was a struggle.
The purpose of the video is to show people the terrible suction and to warn people not to buy a Ball Dyson.
(I was previously a Dyson fan, but I suppose in the end the facts out weighed the marketing!)
The Dyson Ball Vacuum has a design fault and has little or no suction!
Turn the brush off and feel the suction! There is nothing, if any suction at the head of the machine!
It picks up dirt by brushing the carpet, this damages your carpet!
After using the Dyson Ball vacuum you will find that the collector fills rapidly with 'fluff' from your carpet, after time this will damage your carpet.
The Dyson in the video was brand new and had already been tested by 2 Dyson engineers.
My Dyson weighs far too much, causing me to push it harder, causing baseboards to become chipped, because there's no "rubber bumper" along its front edge, just hard plastic. It's like vacuuming with a VERY heavy computer printer on wheels.

Dyson sucks.....HA HA HA HA XDDDDDDDD
mrjohnson253 3 years ago 9
If the claim is that they never lose suction, doesn't that mean that they continue to suck, forever?

lol, good one

Oh they continue to suck all right. Just not in the way you want them too.

Dyson... the Bose of Vacuums.
Bose...Overpriced and claims to sound better thru "Engineering"
Dyson... Overpriced and claims to not lose suction, my guess thru their engineering...

Bose does sound better due to engineering douche bag

If Dyson is bose, is there a Rotel Vacuum cleaner out there? How 'bout a B&K

Bose sucks. Ask any person who works in home theaters. Douche nozzle.

I sell and work on all makes Dyson is the best bagless but stick with the non ball models, bagged vacuums are still the best by far

We had a rainbow. Problem was its unhealthy, and the the problem with the Kirby is it has too much power.

the trouble is with dyson you have to
clean the filter with a brush and all the dust goes everywhere empty it more often,
but with the bag vacuums you can just throw the bag away.(nice and clean)
conclusion:dirty dusty enoying
