there seems to be alot of unseen added footage , i never saw a dalek down the side of the house killing a soldier in the origonal VHS copy

@dalekidea That's because that scene is one of the new ones that has been specially shot for this new version. There is no unused footage remaining from the original story.

@dalekidea It's been specially filmed by 2-Entertain :) It explains all of the new special effects etc. on one of the DVD documentaries

@dalekidea they've filmed some new sequences using an original Ariflex 16mm camera, the camera the DW production team used from he Abominable Snowmen to Revelation of the Daleks. they've also used the original house used in the original story, and somebody has loaned their replicas of daleks and ogrons, and somebody has posed as a UNIT soldier too.

Mmmm!! Looks good......they cleaned it up well! The Dalek lasers looked much better in this than in the origional.......it was very basic back then. Cant wait!

It will be good to see one of the best dalek stories again and from the pre-Davros days too. Daleks were never as good after they introduced Davros.

I first saw Day of the Daleks, on VHS, on 27 September 1986. I remember it because it was the same day that the final episode of The Trial of a Time Lord - The Mysterious Planet was shown.

Day of the Daleks has always been a very underrated story - admittedly it is not a particularly good story for the Daleks themselves - but it is a great Dr Who romp, enormous fun and I'm looking forward to this revamped release.

Theres only one problem i have with this new release, and thats the Dalek voices. The New Series voices dont really suit Classic Daleks. I kind of wish Briggs went and did something closer to the voices of Genesis of the Daleks, or Planet of the Daleks.

I wonder if the BBC will bring out some more from the classic series with added bling on dvd?I've been waiting for this story to be released for a long time. I hope that when they release Death to the Daleks, that they do the same with added CGI :) My favorite Dalek story still to this day.
