  • only 21,000 hits, people just dont know it yet. Brainfreeze must have more hits. Hook and sling was first tune i discovered on a compilation. Eddie is a lege

  • I've just discovered Eddie bo and the drummer was one of the first things that caught me.

  • James Black -the drummer on this track is possible one of the most unrecognised incredible funk drummers to exist. He was part of the new orleans funk boom in 45' and although only aqcuired a few national its, he remains a great influence on all new orleans drummers after that period.

  • Just goes to show you dont need any stupid vocal effects or noises..Just a funky blues progession, a fat drum break and some sweet ole soul singin!

  • Could listen to this on repeat all day long. Such a good track...epitomises everything good about funk n soul.

  • R.I.p grandpa love you :]

  • @OlSkooLHipHop Mary Jane Hooper is the singer here?

  • @sinning1966 Apparently for a while some people suspected as much, but apparently Mary Jane Hooper's real name is Sena Fletcher.

  • Some of the heaviest drums I've ever heard on the intro.

  • Sorry, but it's Bobby Williams on drums, not as well-known or as technically brilliant as James Black, but another New Orleans monster..

  • @groovediver Actually multiple reliable sources confirm that it's James Black on this one.

  • james black on drums no doubt about it

  • Gotta be James Black

  • That's one tuff beat! Quality!

  • "But For Now Watch The Sound".....

  • Ahhh shit, Diamond D & Grand Puba - Watch The Sound. Damn this track is funky though!

  • R.I.P. drums wide open...............

  • drum break borrowed by the silence Xperiment for "21 flash questions" on "Q-Unit's greatest hits"...
