  • Awesome Daniel great video, thanks for the good ideas.

  • Daniel would have easily made a good actor for the logan / wolverine / x-men character.

Chaga and raw maple water sap.... wow.

Would be more helpful to show how to do a proper tap, but I'm sure someone will have that posting.

  • @MatrixReality2011 Let me guess... We're advised to watch Durian Rider instead... right?

BTW, Daniel looks awesome to me. Glowing skin, hair, eyes. Sturdy, strong body with healthy tissue. Obviously very clear headed and articulate, relaxed and earthed.

And if he 'just wanted to market products', why would he bother making so many detailed instructional DIY videos like this one?

  • @Lakkhesis1976 well said

  • @Lakkhesis1976 I think frutarians are jealous of his complete knowledge of health and the human body, all they know is eat a whole bunch of bananas, they have no idea what happens with their body when they do so, histroy of the fruit, they do knot understand the deforestation that goes into argiuculture, they do not know that once argiculture was intrduced man suffered as well as the earth... all they know is eat bananas...

  • @HappierHealthierYou Very true. The general fruitarian understanding of human health, physiology, ecology, agriculture, etc... is shameful. It seems to attract the less intellectually gifted folk in the health scene...

  • @Lakkhesis1976 I am not down talking them at all, I notice how much negative energy between "paleos" and "frutarians" and personally I think out society pushes a us vs. them attitude it is a form of distraction. I will say that frutarians do no research on their lifestyle. If they did they would not think eating 29 hybrid bananas is logical, or good for the enviornment.

  • @HappierHealthierYou I'm neither paleo not fruitarian, but I know what you mean about the 'vs'. I've seen just as many poorly educated paleos though, who live on bacon and crossfit and that's just as stupid. However, I do see MORE fruitarians reading one or two biased books and basing their entire lifestyle on them without thinking laterally, usually because they don't have the capacity OR because their fruitarians masks a more deeply ingrained eating disorder.

  • @Lakkhesis1976 Ahh great point once again. I am also neither both, for example today i had a green fruit smoothie for breakfast, another smoothie for lunch, and grass fed beef with brocolli and organic red sauce. I am not afraid of greens, meat, or fruit, seeds, nuts, or fats lol. Yea the us vs. them, black. vs.white, dem vs. rep, while "they" dominate the money. I agree with the capacity, they get involved for very superficial reasons it seems.

  • @HappierHealthierYou Fruitarians/vegans also tend to lump all meat/animal product eaters into this category that implies that all we do is gorge on incredible volumes of flesh and dairy, but it's not true, at least in my case. It sounds like you and I eat quite similarly, actually. I just appreciate nutrient density and wholefoods in all their glory, be they plant or animal based. I'm fastidious about how/where I source food, but eat a huge variety of foods.

  • @Lakkhesis1976 Very true, I see your from austrailia, is d.r. pretty well known there or is most of his fan base in the u.s.

  • @HappierHealthierYou I'm not really sure. Most of his fan base seems to be from the US, judging by his youtube channel and website. He's certainly not 'well known' here, but I move in health-related fields so alot of the people I know know of him. He doesn't draw big crowds at his talks, etc...

  • @Lakkhesis1976 Those talks must be really short, "eat bananas" the end lol, probably alot of guilt tripping and meat bashing also. Do you work out, meditate, yoga?

  • @HappierHealthierYou They're pretty much a very elongated version of 'eat bananas', yep. With a bunch of mishmashed hysterical vegan ethics. Plus 'get more sleep' and 'drink more water'.

Me and working out - I'm 5 months pregnant at the mo so not doing exactly what I'd 'normally' do, but at the moment do loads of walking + about 4 sessions of yoga weekly. 2 x prenatal, 2 x Jivamukti practice (belly gets in the way of some poses, but it's pretty dynamic). Also do 1-2 heavy weights sessions/week.

  • @Lakkhesis1976 Lol talk sounds life changing. I need to start doing yoga i never done it, dont really know how. But working out led me into the whole healthy diet lifestyle. I love weight training and body weight exercises, I want to introduce yoga and sprint. What was you excerises like before that pregnancy, by the way congratulations!

  • @HappierHealthierYou Oh, the talks are a load of... He can't address BASIC audience questions without stuttering and/or diverting completely off topic. Most people leave looking perplexed and disappointed, but his fanatical anorexic crew are also always there, laughing at his bad jokes and thinking every word he says is genius, so...

Pre-preg, all yoga was Jivamukti. I also did 2-3 tabata sessions weekly (usually using kettlebell swings), and more like 2-3 weights sessions/week.

    And thanks!

  • @Lakkhesis1976 One thing that is so insane when it comes to that guy, I can never tell when he is giving advice or slandering another diet life style. Also he never just lays out how to eat fruitarian, he just down talk every one and uses sarcasm and guilt trips... Haha I could seriously picture those talks with his robotic followers. Do you have a site or blog or even a faviorite site that has info on Jivamukti or kettlebell swings, Id love to check that out more.

  • @HappierHealthierYou He's usually slandering, rarely giving advice... He basically just refers everyone to Grahams 80/10/10 for actual 'nutritional' advice, although I don't believe Graham recommends the huge number of calories that Harley does: can't quite recall.

Yeah, he has a steady crew of unquestioning followers. Average IQ about 55, and a variety of spectrum disorders represented...

Jivamukti is a great, dynamic yoga method, though very vegan focussed, somewhat ironically... (TBC'd)

  • @Lakkhesis1976 I pick up my raw milk before class one day a week and literally have to hide it in my bag before I go in!!! Gets you very strong/flexible and is quite challenging though. Try both 'jivamukti' and 'kettlebell swing' in both google and youtube searches, I don't really have any particularly favourite sites, and don't have my own :)

  • @Lakkhesis1976 coll ill check it out, so how is austraila, are there a good amount of health minded people. I always have been so curious about it. Where you live is it warm year round, is there maves that are surf worthy?

  • @HappierHealthierYou I think Australia is probably like any other western country when it comes to health, though we don't tend to identify ourselves as 'health nuts' as much as Americans seem to though. Like, it's not a 'movement' here as much, a social thing. Sydney, where I am, would probably be considered warm/mild year round by Europeans/people in cool parts of the US, but to me it gets pretty chilly at points! Great surfing though :)

  • @Lakkhesis1976 Wow that sounds great, how is the cost of living, is the economy in the dumps over there also?

  • @HappierHealthierYou Cost of living = ridiculous... But we're relatively free of economic slump as far as I can tell.

  • @Lakkhesis1976 dman to the cost of living as well as to the economy, I am trying to plan a move to hawaii, where the cost of living is high. but i plan to never use heat or a/c, grow alot of my food, fish, entertain my self outside, i am hoping that cuts my cost pretty low, i dont drink or smoke either

  • I love this video! Seeing all that Maple Water being harvested really excites me. And that ChagaMapleMilk Drink looks amazing. I'm going to tap some myself and make an AlcoholicBrew of it!

  • Was it easy to find tubes that dont leach out pthalates? Once I find this I can start mixing my Willard water in it. Oh, I also need to find a Jerasic water source. On the war path and will succeed!. Wait, is that a microwave oven? Hope its not connected to an electric source our you are eating dead food. Keep up the good work. I goota make that for my kids before they become addicted to coffee.

  • @MatrixReality2011 What makes you any different than any other member of the mindless neofood nazi fags running around? I dont support these guys or you, you are all fucking nuts.

  • @MatrixReality2011 why would you pay attention to something you wasted your time watching, good point. is this what internet vegans do? talk shit and then act like a douche when its pointed out that they were wrong?

  • @MatrixReality2011 he said the maple WATER was his "cleanser" and showed some other thngs you could do with the stuff in the kitchen. Maybe you should just pay a little more attention?

  • whats the secret of ur hair and what do u use to wash em?

  • love these videos! where did you get that dark pot? Its so neat!

  • Daniel, you should make a chaga infused tire sur la neige... drizzle that chaga syrup on top of a snow-packed trough and let it cool down into a taffy texture then roll it up with a stick.. delicious!

  • Say thankyou tree!

  • That's amazing! I've always wanted to do that. With birch, too. It's too cold here for coconuts, but not cold enough for sugar maple, certainly not cold enough to keep it from fermenting outside. The video makes me thirsty watching. Good thing I've got spring water handy.

  • I'm jealous!!!

  • Nuff Respect for showing a MISTAKE in a video! Many people are too proud to do that.

  • @permalove1 agreed. Daniel is great.

  • Awesome content. Going to try this. Thanks

  • I'm not into boiling things, but I heard of people just leaving the maple sap out in the cold and it SEPARATES -- and I hear that makes nice maple syrup!

  • Keep the good videos coming! I learn more ideas for ferral living in each one! :-)

  • *drool* makes me wish i lived in a place where i could harvest this --or at least know someone willing to ship me some of that fresh maple sap ::nudge nudge::

  • Wonderful :D thank you Dear! I will tab birch soon ... =)

  • Enjoyed some of Daniel's home brew last night and yes, its delicious!

  • Great video and surthrival is one great portmanteau of a company name!

  • That's a cool handle on your glass carboy. Looks handy!

Thanks you guys! How did you actually tap the tree?

and who had to clean that pot?

  • thank you for all these inspiring videos! please keep them coming...would you know if birch and maple trees grow in south florida? if not id gladly trade you some citris for maple water...lol..jk...thanks

  • @waluman1 Even if there were you'd need to have freezing temperatures at night to have the flow of sap occur.
