@Nobody7720 I slightly disagree. Broken and TDS could be a box set together they are so similar in my opinion. Pretty Hate Machine. The halo releases were just a way of relevating the songs he had done in the past to his present, basically messing around with tones and speeds. The fragile appeared pretty commercial, but obviously this was after his grammy and commercialist so it's pretty obvious where the flavor came from, then after along with the musical album, I see a change re influance.
Old school NIN is the best! This is my favorite era of them. From 1992-2000 is the best. Newschool NIN is weak and defeats the whole purpose of NIN. Most people that like new school NIN are sissy emo kids.

i'm not sure if trent would ever want to (or could) produce another album/EP like Broken. remember he was in his mid-late 20s when he made this, he's now in his late 40s! (holy fuck, trent is 50 in a few years). regardless, i hope he's happy, whatever he's doing.

NIN as we all know what totally a band for the ages. but good things cant go on forever and he most likely put the band to rest. Its was great and there is still all this great music we can listen to. I just hate hearing how someone cuts a toe nail off and people get a butt hurt and start screaming commercial when someone does something different.

well first and foremost this is a great fucking song! love this album. but everyone seems to be trash talking trent and i just dont get it...I mean im only 29 years old and have listened to NIN since the broken album but even i can see that im not as full of hate as i was say back when i was 16-23 yrs old. I mean dont get me wrong i still hate mostly everything, but people and feelings change. how long can you growl and bark the same old tune?

@Nobody7720 I slightly disagree. Broken and TDS could be a box set together they are so similar in my opinion. Pretty Hate Machine. The halo releases were just a way of relevating the songs he had done in the past to his present, basically messing around with tones and speeds. The fragile appeared pretty commercial, but obviously this was after his grammy and commercialist so it's pretty obvious where the flavor came from, then after along with the musical album, I see a change re influance.

Old school NIN is the best! This is my favorite era of them. From 1992-2000 is the best. Newschool NIN is weak and defeats the whole purpose of NIN. Most people that like new school NIN are sissy emo kids.

@RussX5Z Amen. I saw NiN live in '98 and...I don't know, you could hear a passion in trent's voice back then. I watch his live shows from the last 5 years or so and its just not the same. Not mad though, people change, he's still a good musician, just different.

Unfortunately Trent has either lost his raw passion, creativity, his cold underground edge, or he doesn't give a crap anymore about what he represented in the past and makes music either because he wants another pay check or wants to blend in with the rest. I personally think its a bit of both. I mean he no longer fashions his unforgettably cool long hair and goth industrial clothes. And worst of all he even got married and became a family man.

He can't make rock forever...or I guess he could..but do you really like seeing 50 year old dudes on stage trying to act like they're 20 again? I'm glad he knows when to hang it up, I can't stand seeing bands like AC/DC trying to rock out when they're senior citizens. Trent has made a huge impact on the music industry and created tons of great music. There comes a time to pass on the torch on to newer generations.

It was never really a band..just trent and some helpers for live shows, so it's not like it'd be hard for him to do a 'reuinion tour' or something...I just hope he has enough sense not to.

Music trends seem to be cyclical and now all we've got is linkin park and modest mouse, unless you're into stuff like death metal - nothing but screaming. At least KMFDM is still doing their thing.
