I don't think anyone would know this answer for sure, but if I were to take a guess, it's probably because higher classes don't mingle with lower classes. They think they're "superior" because they have more money, this usually makes them arrogant and ignorant. Most cases this is true, Higher class people don't like to mingle with lower class people.
