@gtawesom3 i have a 14mp camera and iphone is HD anyway, i dont need to plug a hdmi into my tv... Also yes, the new HTC phones have hdmi. NOKIA are good but not as good as HTC.
japan has a few 12 mp phones, and panasonic lumix phone has i believe 13.8 mp phone, and in a few years they are having that 16 mp full hd cam phone, u just cant compete with japans phones tho

I hope the n8 fails miserably. That’ll teach nokia that they can’t just abandoned their failed products like the n97, and leave all the people who wasted their money on it without proper software updates, or at least an apology.
Update! 3 days now I have Nokia C7 (same with N8, except camera + flash), and after spending some time with it, I have to say that symbian^3 and the new Nokias with capacitive touchscreen are unexpectedly amazing. It has some lags in a couple of games, but it is still early to judge the GPU. The OS is really fast compared to s60v5, touchscreen responds very accurately, and camera (although NON Carl Zeiss, and 8MP) records HD video with fantastic fps and vivid colors. Cant wait for next update!!!
I've seen C7 and I have N8 myself and the video quality for these is almost the same. The photos are a lot better on N8 though (because of AF I think).
Symbian is java and C++ builded OS which makes it much light and stable, like windows on PC. and cuz of no girly animations, it gives full power to 3D GPU for smoother gaming and support web with flash input. which dont need extra ram. even 128mb is a enough for it.

However these show 600 Mhz or not with the Broadcom BCM2727 GPU taking a load from the processor the Nokia N8 IS THE FASTEST PHONE (Proved on these websites) So stop the arguin because its been proved... END OF
@Bodmister Links do not work, but why do they compare N8 with iPhone 3gs and Samsung OmniaHD? The specific models are almost 2 years older than N8, and iPad, which is 1 year older model... Ofcourse N8 must be faster. They should have compared it with DesireHD(Froyo), GalaxyS(Froyo), iPhone 4 etc, but obviously the results wouldnt be in favor of N8.
@kostas12ldb only thing i could find lol but the other test shows no matter what the N8 is doing it benchmarks at 60 frames a second but that only because thesoftware it uses to test maxes at 60 FPS... could try googling for N8 benchmarks and you won't find another phone that beats it... have a look on jbenchmark (website)
I think it's sad seeing these people saying Symbian sucks or apple rules the world yet they came to this video on the Nokia channel looking at the Nokia N8
Ip4 and Galaxy s r still much better in gaming . However , we can't deny that N8 is fastest smartphone with 600Mhz processor . Let take a look at Htc legend and wifire . Htc sucks

@gabox35 samsung has that 1.2ghz dual core one coming out, i believe its a arm 11 or 12 i forget, but yah apple cant compete with that, also snap dragon is definatly a lot stonger that the a4 as well so thats the real competition. along with apples shitty history of cpus i dont thing they are really good at making them

lol what is the point in having h/w graphics accelerator when Ovi store ain't getting shit for games. All hardcore devs don't give OVI and Symbian a 2nd look

@dk206 Let me remind you that Android was at the same "fate" as symbian about one year ago, with very few apps and almost no good games, until Gameloft decided to "look" towards Android.
The same has happened with symbian, if you noticed. Gameloft started releasing their popular games for Symbian^3. Still laggy, but surely to be updated sooner or later.
I own an iPhone 4, and dislike Nokia, but lets see if you laugh 3 months after official release of the device.
I simply hate nokia phones because unless its a highend nokia the whole plastic stuff makes it feel cheap. They should do it like LG, LG does great looking phones despite their crappy software
@RavensysteM The nokia N8 is made completely of anodized aluminum nokia made that very clear and they made sure they bragged about it. In fact all their new phones that came out on the 14th are either made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum. So no plastic stuff :)

@03056932 I never said anything good bout apple and I wouldnt even think of it, sold my Iphone after 2 days and never went back to apple. Still, though Nokia certainly has his advantages (especially in terms of functionality, comfort usage in praxis and so on) the biggest backdraw was all the plastic which was used on the Touchscreen phones. Surely, the N8 and E7 and so on are big leaps forwards regarding this (Glass, Metal) and finally rivals for other highend Smartphones like from HTC
@03056932 Erm, Nokia actually forces you to use OVI software, which is actually really badly made. And, in some cases, you have to pay lots of money for devices that certainly do not worth it, such as N97, which 3 months ago costed around 550.00euro. And do not forget that, as time passes by, all makers tend to use the iTune style phone 2 PC communication. And ofcourse the iTune store (OVI store for symbian, Market for Android etc.)
@kostas12ldb If you worked in the industry maybe you would understand it. Let me correct your misunderstandings. You can use a Nokia device as a mass storage device with a computer. You cannot do this with an iphone. With Nokia you can use Ovi store or downloaded the appropriate s60 installers from the web and the install them on your phone. Didn't know that, did you? Any Nokia prices you feel unreasonable are down to the operator you are buying from. Nokia sell them extremely reasonably.
@03056932 1st of all, you do not have to work in NASA to know these things.
The fact that Nokia can be storage is true, but the process is very laggy, especially if you have set programs to save data to SD. It messes up everything. So I prefer the USB stick instead.
The fact that, instead of purchasing software with 1 click (iTunes), you can do it with a Nokia with 10 clicks, 2 e-mails, and installation procedures is better? Don't think so.
Was an owner of 5800 and Satio. Very disapointing OS...
@kostas12ldb You don't even know that the N8 is not running S60 do you? Do you actually know what s60 is? You are wrong on every other point you made also. Nokia's drag and drop is as fast as using transfer via usb reader and actually quicker because it doesn't involve removing a memory card. Itunes is not one click, it is at least 3. You don't simply hit sync with preselecting your media, do you? You dolt. Come back when you have something thought out to put to me.
@03056932 In order to use the feature "fast drag and drop", and sync with outlook, you need OVI Crap, in which case you are as dependent as with iTunes.
If you connect s60 phone as mass storage, programs that save on SD are reset to saving on phone memory, and then need manually setup again (e.g. messaging), which is crap.
I understand you are a Nokia fanboy, so go get a life, I told you I used to own such a phone.
s60 UI is laggy and choppy. Android is MUCH smoother and flexible.

@03056932 more than half of the phones I changed were symbian (Satio, 5800, Vivaz pro, E71, N97 mini). And you can say that this is my weird hobby plating around with them.
Be sure that I will get that phone. If you remember, I said that I hope s60v5.2 will be better than s60v5. I mean it, because when Nokia made their first step for touchscreen (5800) I was very convinced that they will rule the market, something that never happened.
Even if I get the best phone, I will change it one day.

@cdnml I think that Nokia was the very first company that outdated your phone just 3 months after first release. Nokia produces 10 times the number of models HTC has. And tech used is rarely "edgy". For instance, when I purchased 5800XM (first week of release), it actually felt like it was already outdated. Same with N97.
I will agree that Nokia actually "invented" mobile phones a decade ago, unfortunately nowadays it simply "follows" its rivals.
@kostas12ldb Nokia have always banded their range; budget, mid range, music phones, flagship etc. So 5800 was inferior to N97, even though it had a later release date. I still happily use a 5 year old N82, few camera phones compete with it even now. My HTC Desire was bought this Summer and is already looking dated compared to Droid 2, Evo 4G, Galaxy S etc - it's just progress...
@kostas12ldb I agree on the part that "Nokia [...] follows its rivals". Look at the early Nokia phones. So different from eachother, so revolutionizing. They had SOOO many styles to chose from. If I look at Nokia phones today, all of them look identical (design-wise). And the worst part is that if you don't like the current design, you're shit out of luck for at least another 2 years, till they make it fresh. Nokia should bring back the old model designs updated to todays feature trends.
@cdnml i don't think u know what ur talking about. iPhones don't get outdated, each new revision only introduced something new. They all share the same basic functions, nothing new. They all access the App Store and after u jailbreak it, u can do even more. I have like 50GB+ worth of iPhone games/apps, whereas my Nokia N900 has only a few decent ones. HTC EVO 4G is awesome btw, and Android phones like Nexus One kicks ass too. FYI, Nokia is doing pretty bad atm.

@cdnml Each company outdates its model on purpose, and that period is approximately 1 year, Nokia included. It is the only way they can continue sell devices, otherwise they would go bankrupt :).
As for iPhone 4, I can reassure you that, within 3 weeks of usage, I have no problem with call-drops, or huge signal-drops. Neither did 4 other people that bought the device. Do not believe any silly-ass gossip you read on the internet...

Anyhow, if the so-called fast gpu doesnt end up at the user (see the the "lets golf" part), but remains hidden in some powerful hardware, its useless.

@dk206 Let me remind you that Android was at the same "fate" as symbian about one year ago, with very few apps and almost no good games, until Gameloft decided to "look" towards Android.
The same has happened with symbian, if you noticed. Gameloft started releasing their popular games for Symbian^3. Still laggy, but surely to be updated sooner or later.
I own an iPhone 4, and dislike Nokia, but lets see if you laugh 3 months after official release of the device.

@RavensysteM The nokia N8 is made completely of anodized aluminum nokia made that very clear and they made sure they bragged about it. In fact all their new phones that came out on the 14th are either made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum. So no plastic stuff :)

@03056932 I never said anything good bout apple and I wouldnt even think of it, sold my Iphone after 2 days and never went back to apple. Still, though Nokia certainly has his advantages (especially in terms of functionality, comfort usage in praxis and so on) the biggest backdraw was all the plastic which was used on the Touchscreen phones. Surely, the N8 and E7 and so on are big leaps forwards regarding this (Glass, Metal) and finally rivals for other highend Smartphones like from HTC

@03056932 Erm, Nokia actually forces you to use OVI software, which is actually really badly made. And, in some cases, you have to pay lots of money for devices that certainly do not worth it, such as N97, which 3 months ago costed around 550.00euro. And do not forget that, as time passes by, all makers tend to use the iTune style phone 2 PC communication. And ofcourse the iTune store (OVI store for symbian, Market for Android etc.)

@kostas12ldb If you worked in the industry maybe you would understand it. Let me correct your misunderstandings. You can use a Nokia device as a mass storage device with a computer. You cannot do this with an iphone. With Nokia you can use Ovi store or downloaded the appropriate s60 installers from the web and the install them on your phone. Didn't know that, did you? Any Nokia prices you feel unreasonable are down to the operator you are buying from. Nokia sell them extremely reasonably.

@03056932 1st of all, you do not have to work in NASA to know these things.
The fact that Nokia can be storage is true, but the process is very laggy, especially if you have set programs to save data to SD. It messes up everything. So I prefer the USB stick instead.
The fact that, instead of purchasing software with 1 click (iTunes), you can do it with a Nokia with 10 clicks, 2 e-mails, and installation procedures is better? Don't think so.
Was an owner of 5800 and Satio. Very disapointing OS...

Nokia's drag and drop is as fast as using transfer via usb reader and actually quicker because it doesn't involve removing a memory card. Itunes is not one click, it is at least 3. You don't simply hit sync with preselecting your media, do you? You dolt. Come back when you have something thought out to put to me.

@03056932 In order to use the feature "fast drag and drop", and sync with outlook, you need OVI Crap, in which case you are as dependent as with iTunes.
If you connect s60 phone as mass storage, programs that save on SD are reset to saving on phone memory, and then need manually setup again (e.g. messaging), which is crap.
I understand you are a Nokia fanboy, so go get a life, I told you I used to own such a phone.
s60 UI is laggy and choppy. Android is MUCH smoother and flexible.

@03056932 more than half of the phones I changed were symbian (Satio, 5800, Vivaz pro, E71, N97 mini). And you can say that this is my weird hobby plating around with them.
Be sure that I will get that phone. If you remember, I said that I hope s60v5.2 will be better than s60v5. I mean it, because when Nokia made their first step for touchscreen (5800) I was very convinced that they will rule the market, something that never happened.
Even if I get the best phone, I will change it one day.

@cdnml I think that Nokia was the very first company that outdated your phone just 3 months after first release. Nokia produces 10 times the number of models HTC has. And tech used is rarely "edgy". For instance, when I purchased 5800XM (first week of release), it actually felt like it was already outdated. Same with N97.
I will agree that Nokia actually "invented" mobile phones a decade ago, unfortunately nowadays it simply "follows" its rivals.

@kostas12ldb Nokia have always banded their range; budget, mid range, music phones, flagship etc. So 5800 was inferior to N97, even though it had a later release date. I still happily use a 5 year old N82, few camera phones compete with it even now. My HTC Desire was bought this Summer and is already looking dated compared to Droid 2, Evo 4G, Galaxy S etc - it's just progress...

@kostas12ldb I agree on the part that "Nokia [...] follows its rivals". Look at the early Nokia phones. So different from eachother, so revolutionizing. They had SOOO many styles to chose from. If I look at Nokia phones today, all of them look identical (design-wise). And the worst part is that if you don't like the current design, you're shit out of luck for at least another 2 years, till they make it fresh. Nokia should bring back the old model designs updated to todays feature trends.

@cdnml i don't think u know what ur talking about. iPhones don't get outdated, each new revision only introduced something new. They all share the same basic functions, nothing new. They all access the App Store and after u jailbreak it, u can do even more. I have like 50GB+ worth of iPhone games/apps, whereas my Nokia N900 has only a few decent ones. HTC EVO 4G is awesome btw, and Android phones like Nexus One kicks ass too. FYI, Nokia is doing pretty bad atm.

@cdnml Each company outdates its model on purpose, and that period is approximately 1 year, Nokia included. It is the only way they can continue sell devices, otherwise they would go bankrupt :).
As for iPhone 4, I can reassure you that, within 3 weeks of usage, I have no problem with call-drops, or huge signal-drops. Neither did 4 other people that bought the device. Do not believe any silly-ass gossip you read on the internet...
