Shouting "U.S.A.!!!!..... U.S.A!!!!..." to canadians seems kinda stupid, considering the fact that Canada belongs to NORTH America, and it's a country divided by states.... so basically, when yelling the initials of United States of America, you're also rooting for Canada.
this is the moment that stone cold always talks about when he is asked about the undertaker.... he said that this was his first time working with the deadman and when he saw the lights going out and the music and the smoke and the undertaker walking in slow motion to the ring he was like... DAMN WHAT AM I GOINT TO DO WITH THIS GUY .. lol he was intimidated by that entrance hahah well stone cold was a rising star by that time but still the undertaker is pure awesomeness
The undertaker never had huge rivalries?? What the hell are you talking about? How about the rivarly with warrior hogan diesel sid vicious kane mankind and stone cold steve austin and shawn michaels all top 50 greatest superstars of all time. He is the most respected by every wrestler back stage he is looked up to, he is flat out the greatest of all time hands down his character mic skills persona professionalism all of it, its no need for me to even go on about why the undertaker is the GOAT
SCSA was never supposed to happen. WWF/E was always PG, family-oriented entertainment before a seemingly perfect storm of events, harmonic convergence or whatever you wanna call it occurred. The anti-Hogan was born, SCSA, the greatest to ever lace 'em up...
I absolutely hate when people say that Shawn Michaels is the greatest superstar of all time. Even though Undertaker never had huge rivalries, in almost all great rivalries between other superstars, Undertaker would somehow come up at some point. He created some legendary matches such as buried alive and casket and Shawn Michaels has just won lots of championships and was part of DX. Undertaker has historic rivalries against Kane and was part of Ministry of Darkness. Undertaker way better!!!
@TheEnt0urage both of them are legends, michaels did a lot, including carry the company at a time when no one else could, working with let's just say less than average talent, the same with they undertaker.
Undertaker won More Titles than Austin and HBK ;), and have great Feuds vs. Kane vs. Mankind(one of the greatest feuds of all time) vs. Austin and Many More.
@TheEnt0urage Undertaker didnt "create" anything. If you want to say that HBK invented the ladder match. Undertaker had shit feuds with people like Big Bossman, Great Khali, Heindenreich, and the fake Undertaker, which lead to terrible matches. HBK could wrestle a great match against anyone and cut a promo with stumbling over his words.
@TheEnt0urage If anything I feel like it's the other way around. Undertaker is treated as the demi-God of wwe while HBK's legendary status was kinda played down. Which makes no sense since HBK has done everything Taker has done. The difference was HBK actually put people over before he retired. When's the last time Taker cleanly lost to anybody?
There's more excitement in 1 minute of this match then I see within 2yrs of the WWE now, that's right. Not the World Wrestling Entertainment, but WWE. There not referring to themselves as a Wrestling. Wrestling is not to be said at all. Which is a bit contradictory given the fact that there biggest event is WRESTLEmania. I don't get it.
@a1d2h hmm.. he was a heel the most when he fought the front favs. His popularity was still as immortal and probably more respected than theirs in the long run. He was never used to lead the company, unlike Austin, Rock, or Hogan
@a1d2h Undertaker was always the most popular superstar, he was since 1992.. Undertaker doesn't politic and had no problems jobbing.. however he was always a popular superstar. New stars came and took the light temporarily but he never left the top tiers position
Pretty amazing to see how popular Austin was here in 1997. You can't deny it though; with the way WCW was edgy and controversial; people wanted to see a character with that same kind of edginess. Austin was that guy.
@nish98100 I don't think that it would've made much of a difference. When Taker and Austin faced off at Summerslam 1998, Austin was clearly more over with the fans and Taker was still a face.
Weird hearing the glass shatter without a huge pop.
