Why is it that whenever I see a picture of a murder victim or a murderer I instantly get a shiver down my back, when technically they look no different than me or you :P
I get the impression she is just choosing to focus on her love of her sister and the joy of having known her. I guess it seems odd but no one knows how they would be and what they would use to cope. Maybe thats what she has to do to keep going on with life and not be a broken person for the rest of her life, though a part of her will probably always be that...but she pushes it back and focuses on the good memories and her love at this point. What else is left?

In fairness to Gemma Dowler and DCI Woodall, there are myriad reasons why they both would be smiling like that. In the case of Gemma, she's been living with this horrific tragedy for years now. This is the first, and probably only, time she's going to speak in depth to the media about the crime. She wants us to know how lovely her sister and her family was. That's why she's smiling. I think DCI Woodall is trying to be affable at the beginning of this documentary.

In fairness to Gemma Dowler and DCI Woodall, there are myriad reasons why they both would be smiling like that. In the case of Gemma, she's been living with this horrific tragedy for years now. This is the first, and probably only, time she's going to speak in depth to the media about the crime. She wants us to know how lovely her sister and her family was. That's why she's smiling. I think DCI Woodall is trying to be affable at the beginning of this documentary.
