I have owned an boss ME-50 for years & you can use the effects by themselves just press the 2 right hand side pedals & the patches are disabled , then you can use up to 3 pedals together for effects distortion , modulation , and delay , and you don't have to bend down to do It , & connect a boss twin foot switch into the ME-50 you can then turn the tone modify & the compressor on & off In the non patch mode , and when In the patch mode you can then bank up and down through the patch's .
The manual says you can assign almost any paramater to the 6-10 footswitch. Are you able to assign different FX to the 6-10 footswtiches? eg. Can you assign a Flanger to the Compressor footswitch?
WTF is that supposed to mean? This is a simple demo of something that isn't all that well understood. I personally think amp modeling is way over rated. Then again what do I know? I use cheap ass behringer pedals like the TO800 and DD600...
So you are playing an Ibanez Art100? Is it any good compared to the original Les {aul? Is it a little more brittle in sound or is it ok for rock and heavy blues?
I have a Blackstar HT-Dist Pedal and it is the cleanest and best distortion pedal ever. I am going to buy the Digitech RP1000 because all other multieffects boards don't let me incorporate my HT-Dist the same way the RP does. Kudos to ToneKing!
Actually, in line 6 you would be able to create a patch wich uses your amp preamp inone channel to be sent to the power amp section, and other channel with a a pre and cab simulation ritgh through a mixer...so you lll have two tones at the same time....!!!! BUT, a heavy BUT.....everybody says that digitech sounds more realistic and line 6 sounds more plastic....so you choose.
line 6 pod x3 live and boss gt 10 allow you to use 4 cable mode, and switch between using your amp preamp and the simulation preamps, depending on every patch you create.
I just bought this and it's coming in soon and i can't wait to play this! It's gonna get a little loud at my house once i starting playing with this pedal
i'm impressed! the king can't buy a mic and a mixer and present a descent record that sound the real tone without all tehe ambient... still with the mic of his cheap camera
I got the Boss GT-10 instead of the Digitech RP-1000 or the Zoom g9.2tt. I kinda felt that the Boss GT-10 has more features than the other two FX Multi-effects pedal boards. Any comments if I made the right choice?
In my opinion, you made the wrong choice. Yes, the GT-10 has more, much more in the way of options. I used to own it. However, nothing the GT-10 has can make up for the better sound/modeling of the RP1000 and RP500. For me it was a hands down win -- no contest. The harmonizer is useless on the RP1000, though so make believe it doesn't come with one and you will be fine. If you need one, the Digitech HarmonyMan is the choice. I also own that. No, they didn't do it on purpose.
nah, I like the BOSS GT-10. I have another floor pedal (Line 6 Floor POD) so I use the Line 6 Floor POD for some jam sessions but when it comes down to real pratice sessions with the band or live performance, I use the GT-10. If later on I start making better money and if the band progresses to a certain level, I might get the RP-1000 as a second unit plus I also want to get other individual pedals and possibly two more guitars but this all depends on the situation I have but that is my goal
Man, I really don't get how anyone can come to that conclusion unless the music you play doesn't use all that much distortion. And I'm not even talking about, metal, thrash, screamo or anything like that. Nah, some people even like the GT-10's heavy distortion. Different strokes for different folks. The only way I could use a GT-10 is with my own tube amp and I don't like using guitar amps. I go straight to PA. I go straight to computer or mixer too. Never guitar amps. That's the past for me.
YOu just answered your own question. I use guitar amps. I prefer using amps over PA system even live with a P.A. We also hook up to a P.A. but through the main mixing board which is also hooked up to our amps on-stage. GT-10 does not use a lot of distortion unless you want it to. There are adjustment panels for the type of modeling you want, type of effects, type of distortion, etc etc.
You need to know how to use the GT-10 not thing that once you plug in, that's it. Go to "extremevideopro" if you want to see an example of his work. He plays in a touring band and has several albums out. He has a tutorial on how to use the GT-10. Get this in your head, GT-10 is not for stupid people who do not know how to use this device.
I know well how much work there is to get the GT-10 to sound right. Been a member at BossGTcentral for years. I know Ricig's work there along with several others. I've tweaked and it's just not the sound I want straight to board. It's only good bypassing the amp sims with a real amp. I also feel you should not have to spend that much time getting a unit to sound good. No one should be lazy but no one should have to do that much work to get something to sound good direct. Then still just ok.
Well, that's the reason why they are called multi-effects units because they combine a variety of different effects in one unit instead of buying the effects separately which could cost you thousands because some of those individual effects alone can cost $300 dollars easily like a Whammy box. You obviously need to set the tones you want first for the type of music you are going play and lay the tones for a clean channel and a dirty channel, then you set your effects channels to your liking.
Yeah, I got exactly that with the RP1000 and GSP1101 but much more easily. I hadn't looked at Glenn's YT Channel in a while. I didn't know he had Fight The Good Fight on there. I am a big Triumph fan. What's weird is just last night I got the itch to hear Fight The Good Fight but had never bothered to YouTube it so I did. Now here it is the very next day on Glenn's YT. As usual, he executed it like a master. He has one heck of a vocal range. I wonder if he's using some pitch correction on vocals
Still, his tone even on that great sounding video is not the tone I like for guitar. In fact, the Digitech stuff would do the power chords more like the original. Not that everyone wants to do it like the original. On the leads, the GT-10 nails it. I sometimes don't want to do it just like the original and sometimes find an even better than original sound on the RP's. Well, I also own the GSP1101. I haven't owned the GT-10 now for about a year. Anyway, the best of luck to you with your choice!
You can even bank some loop riffs which you can recall when you hit your lead solo channel so you can have your backing rhythm guitar while you do your improv.
Yeah, when it comes to versatility, the RP's are no match for the GT-10. I'm just willing to make the trade-off. I even considered connecting a GT-10 to my rack GSP1101. I decided not to. I only want one single unit. A guy locally convinced me it can be done when I was him live with nothing but the simple RP500 straight to P.A. The days of guitar amps are in the past for me.
Type "extremevideopro" on the search box on YouTube and you will see his videos. He's a professional musician and guitarist who knows what he's talking about.
@brandeno15 the 500 sounds the same as the 1000 its just the 1000 has more pedals thats about it rp 500 has 5 pedals on it for cotrol and the 1000 has 10
Hey TK, How close are the pedals on the RP-1000 to the true analog pedal? For example the Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal?
I red another posters comment about you not beingable to play copyrighted songs, the Praise team at my Church has to pay a certain amt. of money for each member of the band just to play the music in Church. The pastors sermon is recorded to CD but not the Praise music.
why did you not say anything about the stomp box loop, where you can intragate your old pedals. i own one of these and ya left out alot it realy is a great piece of equipment ya just have to spend some time dialing in some thing like any piece of equipment.
they dont have ENGL's, Krank's, Hiwatt's, or Hughes and Kettner's :/
eh oh well. i guess thats because they are all ridiculously expensive except for krank
eh other than that the list is pretty solid! if i didnt have an ENGL i think i would get it. do they have a version of this that is strictly effects and nothing else?
The Line6 Pod Live series does the same...in terms of allowing you to bypass modeled amps and whatnot..I have an XTLive which you have to buy more patches for. however the More Recent X3Live is AMAZING...more features than he Digitech (though i love digitech)...BTW im not biased or anything..i actuallu HATE multi pedals but more recent stuff has caught my ear like the RP1000 and The POD LIVE...Boss GT-10....meh lol. great demo/review.
Sure man. This unit has a 44.1khz sampling rate and the Zoom G9 has 96khz. How is that 400 times faster than the ones in other units if it cannot match the sampling rate?!
All the amp models on this are so similiar. The fx are good but.....
I forget to add - you can disable anything individually, amps/cabs,/effects or use an amp and no cab, whatever, in your signal chain in the X3 - plus you can run 2 completely independent signal chains simultaneously... and it does bass... and vocals too.
Thanks for the video on this. I saw the Clinic for this last week with Rikk Beatty and was blown away. The cheapest switching system will cost you $1000, add wires and such and you will be way over. A digitech Wammy pedal will cost you $200 alone and you get it in this unit. The processor is 400 faster then the ones in other units. This is a winner
Hey Phish - I wouldn't discount amp modeling all together. I think it has it's place. The fact that you can bypass it (have the option to use it or not use it), is ideal. But, having it is great for recording, etc. My two cents :-). Thanks.
The only reason id do anything amp modleing wise would be if i wanted to get away from Tube amps and bypass my amp and use the 1000 as a preamp through the speakers. Ever done that before?
Its not that good, maybe the valve things catched your attention but you cant combine for example tube screamer model with marshall amp model, or you use the pedal sim or the amp sim, there are not too many amp models like on the RP 1000 or the Pod X3 live
