The remake originally had China invading the U.S but changed it to North Korea and postponed the release date, same thing happened with Homefront. The reason that they changed it in Homefront was that their could be an policical backlash from China and the fact that the two countires have an economic interdependece of one another, so an invaison by China would be improbable. North Korea may be small, but they do have the forth largest military and a much more fanatical loyalty to their leader.

The remake originally had China invading the U.S but changed it to North Korea and postponed the release date, same thing happened with Homefront. The reason that they changed it in Homefront was that their could be an policical backlash from China and the fact that the two countires have an economic interdependece of one another, so an invaison by China would be improbable. North Korea may be small, but they do have the forth largest military and a much more fanatical loyalty to their leader.
