  • i love how the song stops so suddenly, like showing how is life was cut short without warning :/

  • @Domchilled brother ...THAT FUCKED ME UP RIGHT THERE VIEWING THIS VID....I THOUGH THE SAME THING...YOU THINK HE WAS CONVEYING A MESSAGE TO ALL OF US WHEN HE WASFLIPPIN THIS SAMPLE?

  • @brandonbanks32278 yer man definatly. he knew he was goin to die soon so wanted to warn us.

  • @brandonbanks32278 actually yes. ill explain. "is death real?" dilla contemplates his own humanity and if death is really real because he's never experienced it and he's anxious if not frightened by his mortality. "youre gonna want me back...youre gonna need me" were going to want him back when he's gone.

  • I believe we need more producers like J Dilla, 9th wonder, Pete Rock, Charles Hamilton (just type in "freedom hamiltonstrumentals") instead of some of these others that just put bass in their tracks with no samples

  • @Doublef1996 hamiltons fucking wierd he believes in supersonic philosophy wtf

  • @Bleachallstarz And, since when is it bad to be weird in music? Gaga does it and everyone treats her like god

  • @Doublef1996 I'm not saying he makes bad music but I remember this one guy made a video and hamilton seriously sounded crazy he made up his own religion based of sonic the hedgehoh

  • @Doublef1996 I knew about 9th and all them but not Charles. Thank you soo much for turning me on to him. Bless.

  • @Doublef1996 thanks for sharing hamiltonstrumentals, cheers

  • @Doublef1996 but is this kina music relevent these days tho? i agree with you tho.

  • @MILLSPRO123 What do you mean by relevant, I'm in a facebook group that makes better music than Lex Luger or any of these other bass heavy producers. Not that there's anything wrong with them, but they're made for the Waka in you

  • @Doublef1996 some say i sound like dilla. but i dont think so... but i mean relevent as in mass apeal like it did before.. i love real music.. but its like hardly anyones intersted. i dont know.

  • @Doublef1996 thank u, i'd never discoverd charles hamiltons beats. they are nice .:D

  • @Doublef1996 forreal too many dudes are dumping bass and snairs in there tracks.

  • @Doublef1996 also afta - 1 and moods.

  • @Doublef1996 Charles Hamilton is AMAZING. He's so underrated. His sampling skills are outstanding.

  • @Doublef1996 i concur... one day i hope i can get my shit out there.

once i get my shit of the ground I wanna change the world

  • 0:58

  • @SpamSpu i feel it

  • I love dilla but this is just a sample re-arranged, there is nothing actually created or re-created...hmm

  • mindfucked

    Thumbs up if you like!!

  • :'0 wow....

  • You better STOP (pause) and think about what you're doing! You can tell he was saying goodbye on the entire album actually. This is one pure example of it.

  • RHCP brought me here

  • I GOT CHILLLS!!!! RIP J DILLA

  • that'll be the day someone gonn tell me j dilla is "overrated"

  • beat too Dangerous for mainstream rappers that why they too scared to put it on the radio

  • so many artists aren't appreciated til they have passed

  • @rhapsodists1 no, it's that they are overrated when they die

  • REST

    DILLA

  • @rhapsodists1 -_-

  • No, it isn't real. Not in every case.

  • This Needs A Million Views!!!

  • usher used dis on his confession album...

  • Comment removed

  • I can listen to this over and over. J Rest in Peace.

  • Dilla did it first...Just Blaze and Usher come on wake up does not take a genius to figure out that out of these 3 Dilla would be the originator.....

  • @dizza213 search for Dionne Warwick- You're Gonna Need Me first one on list

  • @dizza213 Dionne Warwick your gonna want me back...classic!!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • just blaze kinda made this beat already... listen to usher - throwback

  • @ImDino

    *Facepalm*

  • @MgdCf It came out 2 years earlier so... facepalm to you too

  • Comment removed

  • @ImDino Well Both are adaptations of the 1973 Dionne Warwick song “You’re Gonna Need Me” /watch?v=XYDtnEt0UQU. So its more of question of which adaption you prefer, and less whether dilla copied blaze. Personally i prefer Stop, as i see it more as a piece that flows well in his donuts album, and the way he alters Jadakiss's vocal’s to say "is death real” is really quite poignant when you remember he created the track literally on his death bed.

  • @davebenson27 dead or not, he's overrated

  • Comment removed

  • @ImDino haha dilla is far from overated. most casual audience's do not know who he was, and he generally received less praise and acknolowegment than other producers of the 90's. However i would agree that, after his death he has been hyped up, but this usually occurs when artists die.

  • @davebenson27 Jadakiss does not say is death real...... he clearly say "its that/dat real" .... smh

  • Comment removed

  • Donuts!!!!!

  • is death real?

  • hip hop is how i meditate

  • Oh yeah!

  • /watch?v=tksOml7SMVQ

    kore - biggie smalls 10crack remix /\

    dig itttt!

  • He was right. I want him back in my heart. I think about this song everyday.

  • ='( </3 R.I.P

  • my old man used to play Dionne's original all the time when i was young and when i heard Dilla i was gobsmacked and it is now one of my fav songs! The man was a genius and we should all be grateful to have had him in our live especially with the state of the scene now a days! God bless Dilla, his family and all those who have been touched by his music....RIP Dilla, make um clap up there!

  • @TomWood1983 Which one is the original fella?

  • goosebump every. single. time.

    "is death..death..death... real?"

  • @bigbolge unreal im getting them as i type... everytime too... RIP Dilla

  • Thank you Dilla N Dionne...Infectious beats!!

  • Radio... Same Songs... Same lack of Substance... Its not about the music it's bout keeping the mindless listener tuned in long enough to hear the commercials..

  • o shit i didn't knew dilla made this beat! such a tight track!

  • I'm 190000th :D

  • thekipkadelliac,,,,glad you dont get it,go listen to the stuff thats in your comfort zone as this shits real, were keeping it for ourselfs, dilla would laugh at your comment,,,,jog on and jd rest in beatz

  • @brits72 Actually I don't think you get it. He's not knocking the beat. He's making fun of mainstream hip hop and how it's sold out to be some tired lucrative scheme instead of embracing the music. Don't read the quote for what it says. Read the quote for what he means.

  • @brits72 Dude he's being sarcastic. It wasn't hard to figure out.

  • thekipkadelliac,,,,glad you dont get it,go listen to the stuff thats in your comfort zone as this shits real, were keeping it for ourselfs, dilla would laugh at your comment,,,,jog on

  • @brits72 ahahhahahahahahahahhah! I was joking dude did you not get that? obviously 50 other people did. You need to relax and smoke something

  • : ' ) Beautiful.

  • That pause at 0:59... Oh my gooooooooood

  • @manjishkardam i dont get it

  • @Sinz327 I'm talking about the purposefully added pause. I love it.

  • @manjishkardam it's incredible isn't it? how much can actually be said through silence, i mean

  • @avalanchecanvass ahahahahaha

  • Fuck You J Dilla, Why the fuck Did you leave us? You left us for this shitty Music these "Rappers" Call Hip-Hop or Rap. Why Did you leave us Dude?

  • @avalanchecanvass I don't get it. Your mom took six, Six pills and you're still here. Your dad should have flushed you when he had the chance.

  • @avalanchecanvass You were dropped when you were a baby.

  • This is immense! The little touches on Donuts make it the record it is, it's music that really makes you feel something. For all the genius of the man and the incredible way he made records like 'the worst band in the world' become something brilliant, it's the small things like the vocal over the climax of this track that get me every time.

  • @avalanchecanvass your mom masturbates with a pepperoni. @JstAmir I love you <3

  • @avalanchecanvass wish ya a life full of dicks in yaw ass

  • this song is horse!

  • Can someone give me another song with a first beat drop like this song just after 0:55

  • One of the best DILLA joints EVER!

  • god damn this is it

  • 4 dislikes!!!!! 4 Li'l Wayne Fans... shit.

  • is death real

  • Sadly I found out about him a month after his death. RIP J Dilla.

  • dope check out illskilz dude is dope on beats to

  • @MoneyBlocc868 Don't know what you got 'til it's gone

  • @MoneyBlocc868 I somehow think this song has a more personal meaning OR a dual meaning. 1 meaning for those who didn't acknowledge his skill. Maybe 1 for someone he held close, intimate feelings for. "Is death real?" Was he trying to say, hell yeah it is?! Was he saying it is fastly approaching? "U're gonna need me 1 day." Maybe u're gonna want to remember our last moments together. Then, "STOP think about"...AND-->"GIVE a little back my way!" that last part makes me wonder 4 sure.

  • is anybody else aware that Usher's production crew stole this sample format dirty? it was on his confessions album lol

  • Man fuck this beat. There isn't any auto-tune on it.There are no brand names mentioned so now this doesnt help me decide what to wear. Where is the exploited young girl that is forced to sing shitty hooks?WHERE!?This song has way too much soul and I do not fuck with that shit.I only fuck with the soles of shoes. sheeeeeeeeeit. Plus this song can't be that great,I never heard it on the radio.and radios are definitely not owned by greedy piece of shit corporations using Rap as 3 min. commercials.
