@7855waldo No the whole point in The Proms is that it's affordable for everyone. Tickets range from a few pounds (4-5 dollars) up to fifty to sixty pounds (90 dollars)

@JakeMDavey - We used to have this commendable tradition in America.

Then we went stark raving mad - & started pricing all but the upper middle class & the rich right out of the auditoriums & sports stadiums.

It started about 1990 @ today, you practically have to own the team to go to an event.

Sadly, one of the "icebreakers" was the Rolling Stones, but believe me, if they hadn't gone Park Avenue on us (see Under Their Thumb, by Bill German), it would have happened anyway.
