what do you have all the different knobs set up for? what hardware do you have in it? The guitar looks cool, sounds great, and has great sustain. I love guitar with amazing sustain and that sound great.
@rockster07 He's not routing the midi signal, he's actually turn one of the pickups volume back up. When the Roland G-Synth is engaged, you'll get a mix of the guitar + the synthesizers if you don't turn your pickups down. :)
Where did you get your pickguard material good sir, I cannot find it anywhere, I'm not good at the internets, and I'm sure alot of other people here want to know.
There is an easier way and better way. 0.8mm 304 or 316 '#8' Finish Stainless Steel, this already has a mirror finished surface. It is pvc-plastic coated so you can have your shape laser cut, countersink all your holes, install then peel the plastic right off. Saves you loads of time and will never rust, it also is NON-Magnetic. I have laser-cut this on occasion. There is also aluminum material similar to it but it scratches to easily (being softer).
the midis are incredibly lush, and sound beautiful, but the fuzz distortion is horrible. if there were something that was an opposite of an eargasm that fuzz distortion would be it.
oh yeah i guess. just, the way he was using it.. he used it kind of the way a trem would be used- dropping the pitch dramatically for a short period. he wasnt really playing for a long time with the pitch shifted.
It was certainly inspired by Matts .... no secret there .... but it has lots of extras and lot of differences. So its not the same .... I think its fair to call it a custom as it was made to order and there is only one.
I'm curious, is there any information about what the inside of this guitar looks like, PCB..etc?
I've read a bunch of stuff about similarly loaded Frank Zappa guitars and I'm curious as to how it works when you have so much electronics inside the guitar.
Great video. Love the guitar. The MIDI sounds remind me of a Casio PG380 synth guitar that I used to own. But that onboard theremin is really cool! Keep up the good work.
woah thats awesome haha did you make it yourself?? also that whammy-like thing at the top of your guitar... is that the same thing that matt bellamy has on his manson 007? is it the fuzz probe? im not sure :S
But you missed the point that this guitar has a Roland GK-3 divided pickup already installed, which links to a Roland GI-20 MIDI Interface and a Kawai MP8 Professional Digital Stage Piano (or Roland synth if you like). So it's not a case of either/or .... it has both.
