I bought the OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium Instead of Retail because It was for my PC and it was $100-$150 cheaper than retail, cause obviously its OEM. This is to everyone wanting to buy windows 7. If you are buying it for your PC only then buy an OEM version not a Retail Copy ^_^. I can't wait for Windows 8 my self and Google Honey Comb. :)

@saikimimaru get 64bit, in case you want to get more ram...32bit only supports up to about 4GB of ram (including graphics ram, I think)..so 64bit is faster and supports much more ram !

Guys if you're a gamer or just a regular home user I'd really suggest buying home premium instead of pro or ultimate. The "XP Mode" software that comes with pro and up is really only for programs that were designed to run on XP only, so it would be a more practical system for a business user. Besides, home premium is a lot cheaper, and pro and ultimate have a ton of extra software that most home users won't ever need. :|

When Vista came out, it was a huge disappointment, it just ate up my hard drive space, all my RAM, not to mention the battery life. So when I heard about Windows 7, I didn't know what to think, so I got it, and I was very impressed. The performance was great, some new useful Aero features, it still ate up some hard drive space, but I am happy now with Windows. LONG LIVE WINDOWS 7!

go to the microsoft site.. they have this ultility that you could download for free, i think its called upgrade advisor, something like that.. it scans your computer hardware if its compatible with win 7 and it also tells you if the hardware have a driver for win 7.

Actually Windows 7 runs better than Vista on lower hardware specs. I'd recommend 3GB for a good user experience on Vista, but 7 seems to be able to get away with 2 GB without really "feeling" the slowness.

It won't be genuine anymore. I don't know if both will become non-genuine or just the second one you install. Whatever the case, if your system is non-genuine it's not covered by warranty and you get NO updates and because you get no updates you are way more acceptable to viruses.

No Linus, You're wrong. The "Shake feature" cleanses the screen EXCEPT the one you "shake". So it minimizes every window except the one you "shake".

I know Vista home premium and Ultimate have a decoder to play dvd's & I believe that to be part of media center; if you have just media player you need a decoder to play dvd's but you can get plugins for media player to extend its functionality, that's my understanding ...
