@ShawnVikaKomova2012 What I was referring to is the fact that she doesn't come to a dead hang, she actually continues swinging. I think most of her problems on bars are in her head, not physical.
@realgymtalk Yes, I understand that she has great height and swing on her second shoot and I agree. She is a headcase on bars. I agree with that as well.
@realgymtalk@realgymtalk I completely agree. I hate the way the Chinese do that transition to a dead hang all the time. Ali's was up so high and she had so much swing after, it was great!
the USA may want to seriously consider whether bringing aly to london is a good idea, if she's going to steal and all around spot from nicer, more artistic gymnasts in the usa, bomb bars 2 years in a row, and not medal. rebecca bross bombed 2 years in a row, but still medalled, because she has a beast mindset
seriously? Aly Raisman is a BIG reason that USA won team gold at these championships! She was the only one that had any World's experience and she was the unquestioned leader after Alicia went down. She rallied the troops and did a wonderful job. If another gymnast wants to be in the All Around final, then here's a novel idea for her: beat Aly's scores!
@96horseluvr I'm not a fun of Aly and I don't think that I'm not sure if she makes it to the AA finals in the olympics because there are way too many great all arounders in team USA (Bross, Douglas, Wieber, Johnson, Ross). But that had nothing to do with her making the team. She's not artistic and she's not good at bars but she's strong and very consistant in the other 3 events, She can help the team like she did in 2011.
Ok i'm sick of the american attitudes towards the other countries. I've heard them called "bored swingers" and "heavily inconsistent" among other things. They decide that Quinshan has "made way too many mistakes" when she performs a beautiful team. The other commentators then heartily agree and are like "and yet, she seems happy with it" and it's like-she's happy because even though she's not an american she did a lovely routine. No offence intended to americans, of course. only the commentators
well Mr. Tim, her feet did touch the floor, there is an evident noise in the background. She should have lost a point for a fall and at least 0.5 on top of that for the arched body, legs apart and a very late full turn on the high bar. I don't think the score was fair.
@96horseluvr judging by the 'shut up' you're probably arrogant, therefore I shouldn't even waste my time. But one advise- put your earphones on and just listen at 1:33-1:36. I haven't come here to argue, the Russian coaches already tried months ago.
@missradfordable she didn't hit the bar; she would have been deducted if she had. and the russian coaches argue every time they don't win, and claim that the judging was tainted, god forbid that viktoria make a 1000 mistakes that day
@96horseluvr I never said she hit the bar anywhere. I said that her feet hit the floor. Russian coaches sure have shown much restraint, it's enough to look at Anna Pavlova's career and her history of missing the podium.
@missradfordable Having your feet touch the ground is a full point deduction only if it stops the flow of the routine majorly. Wieber's is only half a point.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 thank you, I didn't know that. it's sad really how the scoring keeps changing, making it harder to keep up and appreciate gymnastics for what it truly is.
@missradfordable It really is annoying. Hopefully when Bruno Grandi (head of the FIG) retires, Nellie Kim will become president (which could be a nightmare) and she'll reinstate the perfect 10.0. She could, especially considering she was the second gymnast to ever receive a perfect 10.0.
@Philippa987 While I find it annoying as well, the British commentators also mispronounce American gymnasts last names, too. Alicia Sacramone for one. Also, one of the male commentators never fails to pronounce the first K in Khorkina.
@graceautumnrush Christine is her legal name. There was another gymnast in her gym named Christine so she went by her Chinese name until she started competing internationally.
Elfie really needs to shut the hell up about talented or non talented athletes. I could look her up right now and say the exact same thing about her. She's disgusting.
Elfi and tim hasnt been having that chemistry they used to..Elfi seems to be submissive to tims opinions lately

Diss Aly's bars all you like, but all I'm saying is her transition to the high bar was better than 95% of the other girls...

@realgymtalk I wouldn't say that with her flexed feet... And all I'm saying is all of her other skills are done worse than 95% of the other girls...
