The high point of all Doctor who... ever. Old companions. New companions. The spin off series. Epic music. Saving billions. And illustrating the tremendous, stupefying power of even an obsolete Type TT 40 Mk3 TARDIS. I still get weepy when I see this.
@Tonarion Series 1-4 were the best series of Doctor Who to date. The Music was brilliant, the acting and storylines were brilliant and Christopher Eccelston played a tremendous Doctor and David Tennant played an epic Doctor. This is one of my favourite scenes as well. I do like Stevan Moffat's Doctor Who as well and Matt Smith is a good Doctor but it can't live up to the standards of the Russell T Davies era, my era of Doctor Who.
My favourite part is when Martha turns and grins at the camera - it gives a sense that this isn't an episode of a program with thousands of adoring fans but a family together at last. Perfect :)
@MrMontyBurnsDog Because Earth's gravitational pull wouldn't have changed, therefore the moon would still be "anchored" to it...I'm totally bs-ing, I have no idea, lol.
Just noticed something ... if you freeze the video at 2:00 you would see on the left of the screen a glowing crack in space ... It makes you wonder if the cracks in time may had started long before the 11th doctor came into being
This is definitely the best moment of the first 4 series.
Apart from maybe The DoctorDonna
The best bit is not only the companions getting to help fly the tardis for once, but also how all the companions and the doctors are complete equals in this scene.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SCENE! THE WHOLE WHO FAMILY TOGETHER ONE LAST TIME...THE RETURNING EARTH HOME HAPPINESS...HAPPY ENDING STUFF...AND THE MUSIC...IT'S PERFECT!!!! GET'S ME EVERY TIME...
This whole sequence is pretty cheesy and contrived, from premise to execution in both acting and direction. Doesn't stop me from loving it, though. After all, you can't like Doctor Who in the first place if you can't handle a little cheese.
seeing all these comments about the tardis being alive, there a thought thats been in my mind since the final episode of the first series... especially the line that rose says when she comes back with the time vortex in her head: "I want you safe... my doctor..."
There's something about that line that makes me wonder: Is it rose speaking, or is it perhaps the tardis? well, its probably both, but what if the tardis is in there as well?
@Darkpaint84 I think it's both. The TARDIS and Rose always seem to have a good relationship, if you get me. He trusts her with his ship so his organic, thinking ship must like her in some way. They both want to save him for a similar cause and this is why I think Rose is immortal as well as Jack: The TARDIS wants the Doctor to be happy. Sure, he stole her, but they became close friends after a while.
It would have been really fun if both the doctors had turned on the same time to hug rose at the end when everyone starts to clap there hands and shout/laugh in the end :P :D
she is alive, even if she is over 1000 years old and looks like a police box, all that maters is SHE LIVES! and she survived the timewar, that must have strengthened her
exactly, but, the only thing i want to know, is how is the Tardis able to survive that long with the doctor's odd bodged way of repairing her, after all, he hits her with a mallet
Well ever since the beginning way back in 1964's Edge Of Destruction, it is revealed the TARDIS does have a mild telepathic field so its not a complete living thing, and besides, the TARDIS was in for repairs when the Doctor "borrowed" her. I'm pretty sure she'd let him know if the repairs weren't right :)
This scene was SO cool, yet I didn't like it. Because I knew that this moment would be the last moment, all of them would be together. Which... I guess is what makes it good!
Episode was borring chatting threats with Davros. Until this glorious scene came. My heart just bleed. Someone cannot beat this glorious scene in the Universe. Welsh Choir 10/10 beautifull vocal cords. Who has heard this song has halo on them :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
