  • The high point of all Doctor who... ever. Old companions. New companions. The spin off series. Epic music. Saving billions. And illustrating the tremendous, stupefying power of even an obsolete Type TT 40 Mk3 TARDIS. I still get weepy when I see this.

  • so THATS how earthquakes happen....we get towed back home

  • This is MY favourite scene from all new Who. Its an archetype of a Happy End. Everyone is back together, everyone is happy, the good people win.

  • @Tonarion Series 1-4 were the best series of Doctor Who to date. The Music was brilliant, the acting and storylines were brilliant and Christopher Eccelston played a tremendous Doctor and David Tennant played an epic Doctor. This is one of my favourite scenes as well. I do like Stevan Moffat's Doctor Who as well and Matt Smith is a good Doctor but it can't live up to the standards of the Russell T Davies era, my era of Doctor Who.

  • How come when the Timelords moved it, the earth's surface was destroyed?

  • This should be the song of our beloved Earth!

  • My favourite part is when Martha turns and grins at the camera - it gives a sense that this isn't an episode of a program with thousands of adoring fans but a family together at last. Perfect :)

  • The Song of Freedom, beautiful.

It's lovely to seem all of them together, I waited for that for a long time.

    Love Doctor Who! ♥

  • I bawled when I watched this episode.. my gf laughed at me lol

  • "We're gonna fly planet Earth back home."

One of the best sequences from the modern Who series.

    Oh yes: Elizabeth Sladen, RIP.

  • The look on the Doctor's face when he comes to Jackie is priceless:

N-no Jackie, no. No...Not you. Don't touch anything, just...stand back.

  • The "Bitey Mad Lady's" greatest moment

  • @spikieboy228 Isn't that supposed to be the Medusa Cascade where all the planets were temporarily located?

  • @GuiltySparkmeister I never noticed that! lmao, that's awesome. I love this scene. The music is just brilliant!

  • While the earth was gone why didnt the moon drift away?

  • @MrMontyBurnsDog Because Earth's gravitational pull wouldn't have changed, therefore the moon would still be "anchored" to it...I'm totally bs-ing, I have no idea, lol.

  • totally memorable scene with fantastic music track

  • Just noticed something ... if you freeze the video at 2:00 you would see on the left of the screen a glowing crack in space ... It makes you wonder if the cracks in time may had started long before the 11th doctor came into being

  • Freeze the video at 1:57 doesnt it look like theres a huge crack thats in the background ? Just thought i might point that out

  • I love this secene and Songbof Freedom in the background adds to the awesomeness of Doctor Who

  • If this scene doesn't get you excited, then there's something wrong with you.

    Seriously.

  • This is definitely the best moment of the first 4 series.

    Apart from maybe The DoctorDonna

The best bit is not only the companions getting to help fly the tardis for once, but also how all the companions and the doctors are complete equals in this scene.

  • Funniest scene ever. So absurd, so...so british. That's why I like them. :))

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SCENE! THE WHOLE WHO FAMILY TOGETHER ONE LAST TIME...THE RETURNING EARTH HOME HAPPINESS...HAPPY ENDING STUFF...AND THE MUSIC...IT'S PERFECT!!!! GET'S ME EVERY TIME...

    HENCE THE CAPS...LOL

  • The Master disliked this

  • Seeing Sarah Jane/Elisabeth in this clip is a lot more poignant now...

  • was martha SUPPOSED to smile excitedly at the camera like that?? lol

  • @PookieWowza I think Freema Agyeman just did it for a joke but RTD decided to keep it in.

  • 1 dislike??

who the hell can hate this scene???????

    ITS EPIC!!!

  • @friendofthejawas A dalek pretty sure xD

  • love the music

  • best episode EVER!

  • now THAT was defenantly over 9000

  • Donna pulled Sarah Jane away from Jack

    LMAO at Sarah's face

  • the music in this is incredible. this scene makes me cry every damn time... i can't watch it anymore.

  • "no...no Jackie...no, don't toutch anything..."

  • wo sieht man mal wie ein planet abgeschleppt wird, grins. nur bei doctor who, der besten serie aller zeiten.

  • my favorite scene of the new series...remember the ood told the Doctor he would take that song with him

  • Ay, ti brings tear to the eye and a song to the heart.

  • Best scene EVER CREATED.

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant scene, deffo one of my top 10 scenes ever

    2:16 :L

  • 1:52

TARDIS: well that was bloody heavy.

  • This whole sequence is pretty cheesy and contrived, from premise to execution in both acting and direction. Doesn't stop me from loving it, though. After all, you can't like Doctor Who in the first place if you can't handle a little cheese.

  • THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY :D

  • seeing all these comments about the tardis being alive, there a thought thats been in my mind since the final episode of the first series... especially the line that rose says when she comes back with the time vortex in her head: "I want you safe... my doctor..."

There's something about that line that makes me wonder: Is it rose speaking, or is it perhaps the tardis? well, its probably both, but what if the tardis is in there as well?

  • @Darkpaint84 I think it's both. The TARDIS and Rose always seem to have a good relationship, if you get me. He trusts her with his ship so his organic, thinking ship must like her in some way. They both want to save him for a similar cause and this is why I think Rose is immortal as well as Jack: The TARDIS wants the Doctor to be happy. Sure, he stole her, but they became close friends after a while.

  • Definitely one of my favourite Doctor Who scenes ever! Brilliant!

  • at 1:29 Matha breaks the 4th wall !

  • @MattnificentStudios From Her Point of View She was Looking at The Doctor

  • Most brilliant part of doctor who, ever. Just to see everyone together, and somewhat happy :)

  • @SmileyNathalie whadduya mean somewhat happy, they are ear to ear grinning with joy

  • Should have included this one in my Doctor Who blog! Cant belive I forgot it!

  • at 1:98 whats that cloud loking thing in the distance

  • simply wonderful x

  • "Now we can fly this thi-......No Jackie, no no, not you, just dont touch anyt-just stand over there."

Gotta love how he treats Jackie.

  • Most epic moment in doctor who history.

  • I totally agree :)

and its doesn´t happen very often in a show, that all former characters appear in one episode and at the same place. That was cool!!

    love the ood song !!

  • Lol...gotta love Donna hitting on Jack...

  • It would have been really fun if both the doctors had turned on the same time to hug rose at the end when everyone starts to clap there hands and shout/laugh in the end :P :D

  • Yeah! that would be well funny!

  • Don't you love the way Martha looks at us when she does her controls - makes us all wish that it was doing around the controls 8-)

  • I love the bit when the Earth stops and the TARDIS pulls away and does a little judder and spin. Gives the impression she is alive :)

  • she is alive, even if she is over 1000 years old and looks like a police box, all that maters is SHE LIVES! and she survived the timewar, that must have strengthened her

  • Yeah she is! As the Doctor says in "Absolution" its just him and the TARDIS, travelling together :)

  • exactly, but, the only thing i want to know, is how is the Tardis able to survive that long with the doctor's odd bodged way of repairing her, after all, he hits her with a mallet

  • Well ever since the beginning way back in 1964's Edge Of Destruction, it is revealed the TARDIS does have a mild telepathic field so its not a complete living thing, and besides, the TARDIS was in for repairs when the Doctor "borrowed" her. I'm pretty sure she'd let him know if the repairs weren't right :)

  • Of course, this SHOULD tear the planet apart, not to mention take millions of years, but whatever.

  • Are you trying to apply logic to Doctor Who? Wow. Just wow.

  • I try to apply logic to everything. It's fair, but aggravating.

  • @Myzelfa Hence the term science "fiction". Just saying is all, no offence.

  • Best scene ever :D

  • was the song

  • song of freedom

  • And no1 knew the doctor was the one man who saves the universe everyday and every minute and possibly every second, knowing time travel:)

Marthas mum i dnt really think knew it was the doctor.. not sure.. wilf and silvia knew tho:)

  • i cant help but think he just caused a worldwide earthquake but i suppose everyones alive

  • I argee surely more people would have been killed when the earth was pulled then the daleks killed

  • Nah the TARDIS would've kept the Earth stable enough to prevent anyone from dieing I should've thought :)

  • 2:32 LMAO!

This scene was SO cool, yet I didn't like it. Because I knew that this moment would be the last moment, all of them would be together. Which... I guess is what makes it good!

  • i really want dis on my phone :/ cant get it anywhere

  • You can download it from iTunes - I did so the other night. It's called 'Song of Freedom' from the Series 4 soundtrack.

  • Episode was borring chatting threats with Davros. Until this glorious scene came. My heart just bleed. Someone cannot beat this glorious scene in the Universe. Welsh Choir 10/10 beautifull vocal cords. Who has heard this song has halo on them :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • The best 2 and a half minutes in television history. gave me he shivers and brought a tear to my eye. well done!

  • 1 word EPIC

  • Fantastic :) incredible who drama

  • how do i get this?

  • BRRRIIILLIIANT!

  • ABSOLUTELY STUNNING

  • coooooolll
