  • I believe I've read that eagles eat mostly *carion*...dead fish/animals....this was a surprise to me before I started watching the Decorah Eagles... I thought they mostly caught live fish/rodents/rabbits....no, they mostly survive on already-dead prey.

  • @icthruu4evr eagles have a poor sense of smell. They eat on things for days sometimes in their nests and leave the leftovers to rot. I've seen a squirrel pelt in a nest and the mom pulling it over an eaglet that wasn't able to hide under her while it was cold and windy. I was eagle nest cams.

  • Eagles fish that way every, every, every day. It doesn't need to be dead although if there is a dead one they will take those too. Yes, eagles do eat dead things sometimes.

  • Owned.

  • @TheCJtoon Wikipedia. Pwned...

  • @TheCJtoon You are an aspiring young mind. Hah. But try to learn something useful. Like the time it takes a hand grenade to explode.

  • @TheCJtoon everyone knows that

  • @garrettf5566 yup yup ur right but im not a man

  • Fish is dead or alive it doesn't matter. I think,it is a domesticated eagle.ıt is white taled fish eagle, it is going to distinct in nature soon like all other animals, because of human nature! For example: enviromentalists in turkey saw only one white taled eagle in nature, it is shame.

  • very easy !!!! if the fish was dead

  • Ya it's real but the fish is dead. You can see it belly up. They threw a dead fish in the water to catch the eagle on video.

  • @dudechuck82 No they injured it a bit. Eagles VERY rarely feed on dead things, as vultures do. They probably stabbed it once or twice to make it look injured. Eagles have the same mentality as Lions, take the weakest and youngest first. It would have to be struggling, but yeah it did go belly up.

  • @xbeast133 Oh so the fish might be injured, but eagles often feed on dead animals. They are just like vultures and will get food wherever they can including dead animals. I myself have thrown dead fish into the water just to see the eagle come down and grab it.

  • @xbeast133 Eagles eat dead things all the time. They get hit by cars eating roadkill. The die of lead poisoning due to people using lead bullets to kill a prey animal and then leaving it there. Lead is a nerve toxin. Vultures eat mostly dead things but will hunt for live prey if they are hungry and cannot find something dead. Vultures take the injured and or sick first.

  • that's chuck norris's eagle! :D

  • WOAH! I LOVE THE VIDEO except my username was named after my fish, and i love fish, so i think eating fish is cruel

  • cool

  • It's not fake. Eagles are prolific in many areas and fishing boat captains, to entertain people, will throw a dead fish out into the water...almost any eagle can spot it and it'll come swooping down and nab it out of the water right in front of you. It's as fake as seeing a kid at a park take a drink out of a drinking fountain. Not fake, sheesh....

We just got back from Alaska and I posted nearly the same video.

  • Great capture!

  • That was cool. Thanks for slowing it down in the middle so that we could enjoy watching the bird make its catch.

  • hahahaa what??.

  • this is a set up,i know this video its fake

  • er... are you retarded?

There are numerous eagles thet eat mostly fish, by catching them that way.

    You best be trollin

  • its a montage a video montage thats why they slowed the video down tis a fake

  • @dejanmilinski

No! its real man! some eagles do fly to slow motion speed, so they can catch their prey, and so the camermen can catch their awesomeness....

  • They make it look so easy

  • seen a eagle today. 2nd time I seen it. flies down the river while I am fishing

  • Great Catch...Well filmed too

  • krass

  • Yep, that was awesome!

  • bro thats sick!!

  • sweet! you see the way he ducked his head to keep his eye on the target, all the way to his talons
