What happens when you're driving down the road and that signs not in Spanish, chinese, german and the other driver doesn't know english and whoops. Its not intolerance. We should be able to speak every language just to be a cheese steak order taker. I've seen mexicans get hurt on the job because they could not read the warnings.

I really don't see what the big deal about putting multiple signs up there. South Philadelphia is generally mostly American so it really isn't that big a deal. I could see saying they may not be able to help if they don't have any employees who can speak foreign languages. I find this sad though. Shouldn't people be encouraged to know how to speak as many languages as possible? It is basic human intelligence. It gives you so much more.

grew up in Little Italy in South Philadelphia. My father is from Italy as our my grandparents. They all speak/spoke Italian. They enforced the English on my sister and myself. That gift from my parents is the main reason for our success. Joey Vento's message isn't discriminatory. It is a message of opportunity and good commend sense.

I'm a Mexican-AMERICAN. I spoke only Spanish but then learned English. While I agree that people should learn English, I also don't believe it should be forced down their throats. And I can tell you honestly that Joey is not putting up that sign to avoid confusion with customers.
